The Dead Weather have released the third of four technique and instrument-based videos. In this third episode, guitarist Dean Fertita divulges the source of his pummeling dive bomber crunch on new song “Let Me Through,” and takes a phone call from an irate neighbor. The video, directed by Jack White, concludes with a propulsive live performance of the track from the new album Dodge And Burn. I just don't quite get if he as creativity. This song, for example, has Jack White all over it. But in execution terms he nails it every time.

I really do love Jack's sense of humor. He's definitely got a "trickster" mentality going on...which I totally resonate with. A perfect example would be the very first 'group interview' video they put online when their first album came out. The one where they're sitting inside some sort of tent with a yellow tapestry while lil' Jack plays a mini organ. It's basically just Jack White answering questions with his acerbic wit while Alison falls into fits of laughter. And they all seem rather high...and/or drunk. It's a brilliant little video. Always makes me smile. :)

One of my favourite bands of all time. Saw them at a more intimate event when they toured Horehound. Me and my girl were up close, and right in front of Dean Fertita. I’m a guitarist, and so I always focus on them, but learned a lot that night. But every member was on target. JW put a dream team together for that. Alison Mosshart (who I’ve since had an everlasting crush on. My wife understands, I can’t control it), at one point she was singing soon to be released ‘I can’t hear you’, in a moment of stage theatrics I guess…she grabbed me by my leather jacket, pulled me close and said “I CANT HEAR YOOOOOUU”. A moment to remember for sure.
