@@Voip3D How fast are you cheating out Scute Swarm? I said reanimator. T1 Swamp -> Dark Ritual -> Entomb/Putrid-Imp (to get PoA into graveyard from library/hand) -> Animate Dead on Pathrazer of Ulamog, who, not only has Annhilator 3, but also cannot be blocked except by three or more creatures. Assuming that you Get Gemstone Caverns in your opening hand, play Mana Crypt and tap it to play Scute Swarm, then play your land for the turn (Forest or something to produce green mana) to tap to play exploration and play another land, that would mean you would have 3 lands out, the Crypt, and three creatures. When Pathrazer of Ulamog swings at you next turn, if you wanted to block it, you would need to sacrifice Mana crypt, exploration, and a land, but then you would have to block with the two insect tokens and Scute Swarm, which would mean you would not get additional tokens, which means your best bet is to sacrifice the crypt and your two tokens, meaning you have your land count at 3, Exploration and your lone creature Scute Swarm and a single card in your hand (why not pretend it is a land?). You start your next turn and draw a Kodama's Reach. You cast it, getting a 1/1 insect token from the land onto the battlefield, then another when you play the land sent to your hand. With that last card in your hand being a land, that means you now have no cards in hand, 6 lands, 2 1/1 insect tokens and 2 Scute swarms. My turn, I do absolutely nothing (for simplicity) aside from attacking and you have already taken 9 damage the first time. You can either sacrifice the insect tokens and a scute swarm to keep the other one active with your land count and hopeful something massive land dumping spell or sacrifice lands, at which point you'd still a land dumping spell. Even if the land that was in your hand had been a fetchland, you'd still be on the rocks trying to keep tempo, because the annhilator 3 happens on attack declaration and then you would have to throw at least 3 creatures in front of it to stop the damage which means stopping its damage means you have to be producing at least 6 permanents a turn, which is really difficult to do at the beginning of the game. Late game sure, but early game PoA weathers the swarm.

I have two of the deadliest creatures, each with an explanation. 1) Flying Man (Arabian Nights version). It looks completely unassuming swinging for 1 in the air. You don't want to block it with Serra Angel, in case one of your opponents has Giant Growth or Lightning Bolt. So you let it through. A handful of spells later (multiple Giant Growths / Blood Lusts / Berserks / Forks), you have taken more than 100 damage from that unassuming little 1/1. 2) Mountain Goat. It sits there, generally doing nothing, until your opponent has been burned down by every damage spell known to red. Then it swings in under a Blood Moon to deal that last point of damage, a slap in the face. Because no one wants to admit to losing to a Mountain Goat. At least the Flying Man has the cool factor. Yes, both of these happened to me, back in the mid-late '90s.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Master of Cruelties works well with the Ninjutsu mechanic : before combat damage are dealt, Master of Cruelties's ability triggers when it's not blocked, and in response you put a creature card with Ninjutsu in its place. Then MoC's ability resolves, leaving the opponent at 1 life and the ninja just deals the remaining damage.

@bfrobin4463 жыл бұрын
In Commander, with 100-card decks, I wouldn't value the "mill 20 into exile" trigger as highly as annihilator. Sacrificing permanents has an immediate effect on the target's ability to defend. Milling isn't guaranteed to make a difference unless you can do it consistently enough to mill a player out. And Emrakul doesn't even have a triggered ability on attack. If you can't set a player back significantly during the turn you're controlling them, a French vanilla 13/13 flample would barely make the list.

Not that it's great in the meta, but I would add Fleet Swallower into this list. When combined with Fraying Sanity, it creates a rule-based OTK on attack, with no need to connect (you mill half their library on attack, then Fraying Sanity mills the rest at the end of the turn). Add in Shifty Doppleganger, or another Sneak Attack effect, you can haste it into play to kill an opponent.

Technically, Ebonblade is 0 risk and all reward as morph can be cast at instant speed, including after attackers and blockers have been declared but before combat damage assigned.
