the problem with aut imo was that it went from being the best abd modded game to a mediocre yba style game (the new universe) it used to have so much character, with so many unique stands, powers, and abilities as well as lots of items and interesting processes to get them now its just the same "kill dio 2 times" and "deal 3 thousand damage" quests

the problem with "unique stands, powers and abilities" and is that there were some of them, that were way too built different and that the other abilities couldn't compete, so everyone was going around 1 shotting everything in sight with their super op power, it kinda ruined my experience when I first played it back in Old Universe ngl

What happens is that AUT devs say too much stuff they end up not doing. Unobs still should have atleast one reworked move. And of course the lack of updates. I've been playing AUT since THE VERY START OF THE GAME (i dont remember too much) i've seen stuff change the mess and how bugs were actually funny and fun back in old aut made it just fun and the mess too.

I think its a problem when AUT'S "major update" is bug fixes and tweaks. also, as for repetitiveness its the same for every jojo game. all there is to do is get new stands and specs. theres no way out of that loop hole for any game. whether it be stands, specs, or abilities its all the same.

Tbh if they were to return the game (same old afk sim) but with new stands and items it would prob still have lots of players 1. Most players will be afk so they can maintain the played count 2. Most of old universe players (inclouding me) would be so goddamn happy since old universe was just an unbalanced mess where u can just use stwrs big aoe moves and u would hit and kill everyone in your sight 3. Thing that will prob return the game to the old player count is the return of traves got bruger We need traves got burger.

The problem is that theres really nothing to do after getting your fav stands other than pvp. This applies to both games but yba has a stupidly addictive grind system that catches people’s eye and most importantly the servers being laggy as hell in 1v1 which really made me quit the game

The devs are lazy af, they only updated for bug fixes and like you said they had an extreme lack of competitiveness. Although animating and creating SFX does take long, but when we end up waiting more than just a month of 2 to get only bug fixes or lag fixes, it gets repetitive (again, as you stated). I love the game but damn, it's boring as hell.

YBA is able to keep it's playerbase alive thanks to constant updates and fresh mechanics compared to other Jojo games. ABD had around 10k active players daily when it was at it's peak, it didn't had the complex battle system of YBA or exotic stands like old AUT. It's simplicity was the reason why for many years it dominated the scene, even YBA struggled against ABD while having factually better combat system. AUT started as a modded ABD and at that time ABD was at it's peak, even the least played modded games were able to attract thousands of players. AUT somewhat outdone ABD in player count but never had the same stability as ABD or YBA did, overall hype cooled down quickly just like the new universe. They kept adding reskined version of the same stand with changed stats but same moves, YBA gained upperhand while ABD slowly diminished, AUT got closed and boom. YBA was the only option out there to play, AUT released as a new game with an actually balanced design but never developed over that. They kept on adding the same old fiasco stands that caused many of the old players to leave, half of the stands were overshadowed and some of them were even worse than standless. You just grinded for whatever stand you wanted, store it away after playing around for a bit and tried getting something else. Trading side never took off in AUT like it did in ABD, so you couldn't find a replacement for your stands easily. ABD offered a simple yet effective trading system, in such a way that it created it's own economy in itself. You had to follow which stand got a nerf or buff, which stand could be used in farming or pvp, which stand evolution line had more value over the others etc. Which gave people a reason to try out different stands and abilities to try it for themselves, keeping the circulation alive in the process. AUT couldn't do that with it's repetitive grinding style, YBA's grinding had actual feeling of progress to it while AUT was mostly go kill that guy or go somewhere and deal this amount of damage. Basically you have no reason to play AUT once you obtain a stand capable of destroying an entire server.

Tbh the main reason is aut falling off is bc 95% of the upds r skins, like 75% of the community literally dont care about the skins everyone wants content, if they keep adding skins they should atleast make the skins more unique and not recollor of other skins.
