@@jasonmitchell8712 At the time of his hanging and for decades afterwards, he was never considered a legend. He was loathed in his district, and the residents were glad to see the back of him. The only people who tried to make his a legend were pro Kelly authors, who made up copious myths about him. Those myths are presently being removed from government websites all over Australia,
@jasonmitchell8712 Жыл бұрын
@@bradwilliams7212 Perhaps look up the meaning of the word 'legend'? Its fitting for what we're both describing here. Wouldn't be the first time governments have erased / altered history. We're seeing a lot of this across the board. What your describing sounds like a page out 1984. “HE WHO CONTROLS THE PAST CONTROLS THE FUTURE. HE WHO CONTROLS THE PRESENT CONTROLS THE PAST.” They're potentially hiding any proof that their police were thugs, and there was any possibility of a rebellion. I wouldn't trust the government or police then, nor would i now. Im not suggesting Kelly was an angel by anymeans...they were harsh and brutal times. It makes for an interesting record on Victorias history.

Looking at him, he could be my son. My own sons both serve in the ADF, Navy, and Air Force. My eldest, he has a beard, not as long as Ned’s, obviously. It’s kept neatly groomed. And, the hair isn’t much different. My son has that heavy brow too. Just makes me sad. Such is life, I suppose 🍻

R.I.P mate.. Remembrance day is about remembering everyone who gave their life on all sides in wars past. Reflecting and trying to not repeat past mistakes. Unlike veterans day and memorial day in the U.S which teaches reflection on themselves only selfishly.

The attempted murder of Fitzpatrick cannot be confirmed due to conflicting stories and Victoria Police later said Fitzpatrick wasn’t a reliable figure. Three police unfortunately did lose their lives at Stringybark Creek, not sure it’s murder as again conflicting stories. It’s plausible that they shootout was started by police and the Kelly’s had to shoot back in self defence. In my view why this story hits accord with Aussies is Ned’s mateship qualities of looking after his mates & his bush skills in coming up with the armour idea + fight against crooked police & burning of the locals bank mortgage documents: everyone hates banks!
@samsabastian55602 жыл бұрын
Travel Solo. What you have stated is fiction through and through. The evidence of Constable McIntyre was supported by the autopsy reports provided by Dr. Samuel Reynolds. At Stringybark Creek, it was Ned Kelly that opened fire first. Let there be no doubt about that. Lonigan did not have a weapon in hand when he was gunned down by Ned Kelly. Scanlan fell off his horse AFTER Ned Kelly opened fire on him and Sgt Kennedy. He was on the ground on all fours and trying to rise when Ned Kelly shot him in the chest, killing him. He did not have a weapon in hand at the time. You claim crooked police, but the Royal Commission found the police acted honourably and properly in dealing with the extensive criminality of the Kelly's. You are repeating fiction, myths and lies.
