R.I.P post office. There was a gopro video of it a couple of years back and it was one of the major reasons I got into mtb at all. Post office truly inspired many.

Twenty nine years is a ripe old age for a jump zone. I can remember back to 1986, and our bmx jump spot. (A little pimple of a spot compared to Post Office) We had four, straight-line jumps in a wooded spot in town. It's long since been turned to town houses, and even the woods are gone. Progress, I guess. RIP Post Office.

So sad. I remember when they cut down our neighborhood forest for a new housing development. That off-road trail was around before mt. bikes were even invented. But we dirt rode with our heavy Schwann 5-speed stick shifter bikes and loved it.

Sad to watch,I know what a place like that means to people,whether at school or work spending all day looking forward to riding there,hanging out and forgetting your troubles. Remember the good times and take that experience with you to your new place. Signed and shared,good luck from the UK.

I thought I was going to see some tragic accident or something. The demise of a loved BMX park is a bummer but sounds like the owner treated this BMX community very well for a long time. Time to take all that passion and organize a rebuild in another location. Good luck! I thought it was a terrific video.

ASK Barry Swenson Builder he bought the property years ago and is now developing it... he does not even live in our town. He's a multimillionaire that wants to make more money off developing and leasing land.

s much as it sucks, you can't blame the guy for wanting to build on his land. Just be thankful he allowed you guys to use it the past years.

@mkohagan10 жыл бұрын
Someone else probably owns it, so when they realised they needed the land, that's probably why they decided to destroy it
@briansprout10 жыл бұрын
It was always a temporary park. The land owner, Barry Swenson Builder, leased the land to the county for $1 per year so the jumps could stay. Now the owner is going to build out the property. Everyone knew it was temporary, and it lasted much longer than anyone expected.
@mkohagan10 жыл бұрын
Brian Peterson My guess was right aha!
@AdventurewithSimon10 жыл бұрын
Brian Peterson That was nice of the land owner to let the riders use it. A $1 a year lease is generous, and while it sucks the jumps are gone, now the boys will build something even better from scratch on a new plot of land that can hopefully survive even longer. I know what it is like to lose your home spot - it happened to us a year ago when the counsel destroyed it. :(
@mikeymcdermott757910 жыл бұрын
you cant build on council land because its public property but if you use private land they cant do shit. Me and my friends use private land for out mx bikes and were gonna build jumps soon

@CJinsoo Жыл бұрын
@@danielleblack9571 your comments makes zero sense. whether you take something with you in the after-life doesn’t matter. ownership is in the here and now, and something that you have legal control over. goes well with institutions like legally defined and transferable property rights. you know, you can form a Trust and deed the land to the trust, and define what happens to the land through the Trust? So, you can define what the property is used for over generations. You can do this for land that will be preserved as a nature conservancy, for example, wetlands habitat, or bike trails, or a pump track. that’s the beauty of private ownership.
