This is a beautiful rendition, Christophe, and really thoughtful guitar arrangement. I'll have to listen to more of your music. I learned this song from the Bothy Band recording, which is gorgeous, and now I'm finally learning the lyrics properly. Sad, beautiful song, and you do it great justice. Thanks for singing :)

Thanks Evan. I got as well the initial version from Triona Ni Dhomnaill, from the Bothy Band, who sung it to me solo first, with a clavinet accompaniment, in 1979, and then made me find out the group version, that I love, of course. Great memory for a great song, which I always sing with a lot of pleasure.

Is her version available somewhere?

No, Evan, except if mice are hided sound engineers... We were only three of us : Triona, Ciaran Brennan (from Clannad) and myself, for a three days private session (I knew that I was lucky...), in a Clontarf Road's small house, on the sea side in North Dublin. Sorry.

No, I don't think mice are... :) My goodness. You played with Triona AND Ciaran Brennan?? How incredible! These are some of my childhood music heroes. I'm surprised you weren't one, as well. How did this come about? And did you three not record anything?
