you can unthank Bel Elton for those monstrosities. This series was the best because Ben Elton was nowhere near the thing. The great thing about this series is that Blackadder was actually not that clever but he was still brighter than everyone around him and Baldrick could at times be the smartest of the lot. It was Elton who decided to make Blackadder too smart and smug and Baldrick stupid. Consequence by Blackadder 3 it had lost the charm and superior wit of series 1. Plus it was all studio based with zero location shooting.

I can only remember 2 things about Black Adder. The first I think was some guys underwear knocking out/killing a T-Rex and the other is this scene. I haven't seen this for at least 20 years, so I don't know why I just decided to look it up

This Blackadder is the exception in that the first series bears no relation to the ones that followed. A complete change of writers for the other 3 so it really was a different show.
