Thanks for taking my recommendation! Great reaction! You got it pretty much spot on. The whole album basically plays out like a play - in fact there was a stage show for it! You should check out more from it. ‘The Rake Song’ is great.

Yeah this is 100% part of an overall concept album. Even if on your own time you should listen to the whole thing it's beautiful and haunting.

No one ever talks about this album or song but this stuff is so tight. Decemberists and Colin Moloy were always very tight
