First off thank you. You have been one of my favorite decluttering "coaches". Also for lent instead of giving up something like candy, wine or something of of that kind, I've decided to pick 5 things to declutter everyday till Easter. It's been fun and motivating

Could you please do a video about not buying so much stuff, so that you dont have to declutter so much. Otherwise the circle of hardcoredecluttering never ends. You are my favorite youtuber, because you are so warm and friendly. Greetings from Germany.

I used to have my mom's grater, but decluttered it eventually. Now I watch a lot of Cooking channels, they usually shred block cheese, as it melts quicker and more evenly. Some have even said block cheese is healthier than the pre-shredded cheeses. So it's on my thrift store wish list now. I know you love to cook so this may be helpful. Keep the grater.

I use my cheese grater a lot, grating cheese, lemon zest, nutmeg. But if you don't use it, donate it I'd say. I've had a big declutter over the past few days, I started sorting out my tool box in the garage and it went from there😂. Kitchen stuff, clothes, things from the garage all went to the charity shop this morning! I even went through my bathroom cabinet thinking there was nothing to throw out but unused makeup went. Gosh it feels better in my home and garage. Definitely like doing the onion layer approach and this one was quite a big layer 😃 Thanks for your tips and encouragement, really enjoy your videos xx

Books I didn't read were sooooo difficult to declutter! I had amassed a nice library of classics that I thought I needed to be a "well-read" person. But, after ten years of never cracking open a single one, I finally came to grips with the fact I was never going to read them. Not one, ever. Whipped myself mentally, with added strokes from the ghost of my 10th grade literature teacher, and delivered a carload of precious books back to the thrift store from whence they came. It was a sad, sad day. I felt like a failure, but my shelves were much happier! And in the end I have not missed a single book nor regretted my decision. #ilovebooksjustnotthosebooks

I can relate somewhat. I had a season in life when I loved to read books. Now I just don’t anymore. Idk if that’s the case for you, but as they say, seasons change. And that’s perfectly ok. I think I find myself just embracing new tech more and as I get older, it’s just easier for me to push a button than to do all the old school stuff required for it (plus for me...the need for reading glasses kind of makes it less fun).

I go on huge declutter binges at least once a year (small declutters at least 4 times a year on top of that) and that's what I'm currently doing. I can't stand things that have no home so I go through and home and/or declutter with no mercy lol.

I mean i touch these items almost daily but it definitely will help if you're doing the minimalism game by decluttering something each day til the end of the month. Helps routines go by faster by grabbing random things. PERFECT idea!!! 💡 🥰

When my kids were younger I had a lingerie bag in their rooms so that when clothes were too small and we wore them one last time, that night they would go in the bag so that after it was washed it could go right into the donate box and not accidentally get put away again. I also let my kids have a free pass. If they dont wear it or just don't like it - it's donated. No questions asked. Sometimes my Target clearance deals just aren't cute to them, just me 😉

I do that all the time. lol. And I also contemplate my “systems” as I go along my day as well. Or I may time some things here and there for more clarity, etc. More or less just noticing things more instead of robotically going through my tasks without considering anything...which is what I used to do...when I wasn’t procrastinating, that is. Lol. I would donate the grater and if I needed one later, I’d get one of those long, slim trendy smaller ones with a handle so you can grate right over your dish/food/pot/pan. Those take up less space and are more convenient to use imo. Well I did that lol. I also keep one that is so tiny...about the size of a post it that has larger grate holes. I thrifted that one. Lol. But then again I often only grate a small amount for cheese at a time (occasionally) and I have no interest in slicing potatoes (or cooking or eating them that way) or zesting lemons. I also hate the way cheese gets stuck in the box thing and it’s so hard/annoying to get it off the grater, etc. Washing it is also a pain. You can get hurt. Lol. Imo it’s kind of a dinosaur but to each her own. 😅😅 I can’t even remember the last time I had one like that and rarely used it then. Maybe 6 years ago?

Keep the potato shredder. By the time you get rid of it, you will need to use it. Unless it doesn't shred well, that's when you can use it for some type of storage or farmhouse decor or donate then. And the turmeric and crushed red pepper flakes can be used as a mild seasoning or natural colorant for the food on your plate or bowl just like salt gets used. I do this with garlic powder as well as. All of these seasonings are especially good on potatoes and eggs and cream based soups 😃

Get rid of the cheese grater. My blender hung me up all year because of the rare week in the week that I would crave smoothies. I finally gave myself permission to just go buy a smoothie from a local shop when I get those cravings. Hadn't regretted it and the guilt I was holding for a year (over a blender, lol) is gone. Just buy preshredded cheese and you're all set. Use a potato peeler if you need peeled crayons.
