It was cool how when he was talking to the lobster or the dolphin on the show, you never hear the animals answer back, so you don't know if just The Deep can hear them, or if he is legit a crazy person that only thinks he can talk to water dwellers.

I like they flesh out the heroes in a more grounded way in the show it’s done so well that it doesn’t feel like pointless filler and it’s actually enjoyable to see how these individuals deal with their way of life

In the show, The Deep does seem like a representation of Aqua Man from the Super Friends cartoon. He can live in the water and speak to sea life, but doesn't have super strength

certain superheroes in The Seven are representations of their DC counterpart, Homelander is a highly patriotic Superman, queen maive is a depressed/done-with-this-superhero bullshit version of Wonderwoman, and the Deep (as you already mentioned) is a less powerful version of Aquaman.

I like how the show made the sups more morally grey, in order to make us resent Vought more than them. Homelander isn't a pure sociopath and an abuser, but a manchild who never got the opportunity to be in an average person's mind, and keeps on making horrible decisions. A-train isn't a coward and a pervert, but a performer whose head got so messed up by pressure he struggles to feel empathy. And The Deep isn't just... some dude, but a confused guy with good intentions whose ethics got ruined by Vought

The part that people dont understand about aqua man is that in certain iterations he controls ALL WATER. like the only thing keeping him from ripping your own blood out of your body is just a mental block. The modern day version is extremely respected by manhunter and batman, two of the greatest warriors in all of dc because hes a ruthless strategic genius.

Huey is my favorite character due to the fact that I went through certain experiences very similar to his that made me question everything. It put me through a mental Paradigm Shift. Something Huey battles with constantly throughout the series.

I think he's like, the only member of The Seven aside from Starlight who doesn't die in the comics. Mister Marathon died on 9/11, Lamplighter gets beaten to death by Mallory, A-Train gets decapitated by Hughie, Jack from Jupiter gets killed by Butcher, Queen Maeve gets beheaded by Homelander, Homelander gets killed by Black Noir, and Black Noir gets killed by Butcher. I guess that's a plus to being unpopular. He fell under the radar.

The original creator of The Boys certainly had a very good idea for a super hero concept to explore. However, I think it's obvious that while most wouldn't have come up with the concept, some can still explore it better. Now Im not saying the writers of the show will be able to do it better in the long run, but they've already exposed the fact that the original story of The Boys had potential that was not yet touched by the original creator.

The show is SOO GOOD! They're taking us to places other shows aren't and probably can't. Case in point, is the gills scene. That was as much of a rape scene as you can air on TV and we (as you did) should feel uncomfortable with it. I don't really have a favorite, but Maeve has the potential to be it. But maybe it's just because I love Wonder Woman. I hope she does more good and slap Homelander around a little in season 2.
