What will you find in the depths? The Bottled Imp takes a detailed look at the ‘Talisman Revised 4th Edition’ expansion 'The Deep Realms' designed by Jon New with Samuel W. Bailey published by Fantasy Flight.
A secret passageway has been discovered! Linking The City and The Dungeon regions lurks new danger but also new treasures. Dare you cross the rickety old bridge to gain access from The City to The Dungeon? Dare you enter the Wraith Lord’s domain or the Rat Queen’s nest in order to steal treasure?
In this mini-mini expansion are 2 Realm Cards, 20 Bridge Cards, and 20 Tunnel Cards.

I think combining The Deep and Nether Realms into a single expansion is a great idea! Though I would have liked for the Wraithlord's Lair and Rat Queen's Nest to be made of the same material as the other board

The City is 1 direction, you cannot enter the Deep realms moving backwards through the City. Therefore you have to travel through most of the City forward to get to the Deep Realms.

Ahh, this is the only expansion I don't have, because it's around 150 usd on Amazon. Managed to grab everything else, however, was hunting those expansions down like crazy). Great review, nevertheless, you've got the best Talisman reviews on YT!

Well, I'm yet to play the hell out of the 4th, because I've only recently bought it). And I bought Talisman because I played the Polish copy of it during my school years, so it's nostalgic for me as well. But it's interesting to see how the 5th edition will look for sure.

Good video Mr. Ken, this is the one expansion for talisman that still eludes me, only because it's going for around 150.00 U.S. dollars for some cards, but I do want it. Please keep us updated on all news about a possible 5th Edition and as to who might be making it, see you.

I've actually owned this expansion for almost a year yet haven't tried it because at the time that I got it it seemed unnecessary and "complicated" (because I had other games and stuff to learn at the same time) so it has only collected dust here, sadly. Now after watching this, however, I don't have to bother with the rule book so we'll include it next time we're playing. Thanks :)

Thanks for reviewing this! Unfortunately I still need the city expansion! Prices for it are starting to rise significantly... hopefully I can grab it (and this) before the prices get into the stellar zone. :)

+Darin LaGarry Thanks Darin. Yes, prices are going up and only going km got higher for a while. Games Workshop have said they're publishing a 5th edition later this year.

I don't know if GW will keep the old Warhammer setting. When they brought back Wahammer Quest they set it in their current Age of Sigmar timeline, so that they could sell their new models set in this new era. Unless Talisman is given to a new company to produce. Then again, GW did bring back Blood Bowl, which is set in a humorous version of the old Warhammer world. It will be interesting to see what they do.

Hi Ken, do you shuffle the tunnel cards back into the pile or discard them Also when you beat the Raft Lord and take one tresure, do you then replace the last two treasure cards back into the pile and draw three new cards, or just take another card from the deck or just leave the two remaiing cards for the next character so that the Raft Lord only has hes craft of 4 plus just two to fight and not three, so as he has one less treasure each time, he becomes easier to beat and the same when encountering the rats Queen .

Have you played with the characters from the german Mephisto magazine, like Exorcist or the Devil Minion? I also play a lot fantasy video games like Dark Souls series or Guild Wars 2, but Talisman (DE) has a special place in my heart.

Yeah, almost all of them are fine. Maybe with the exception of the Goblin Shaman. You can check their characteristic here - store.steampowered.com/dlc/247000/ . FYI the Ninja, Pirate, Martial Artist and Saracen are interpretations by Nomad Games. All the other dlc characters are implented just as they were in the magazine.

FYI I just watched a stream on Twitch with Nomad devs and they announced their next expansion - The Dragon. Really looking forward to it, as I never played it in physical version.

Nice video as always, I became a fan of talisman not so long ago when I discovered the android game version, but then it was my birthday in january and I wanted the board game, and I discovered FFG wasn't making talisman anymore so I just bought talisman, the city, the dungeon, and the blood moon expansion but it's sad to think I won't be able to get my hands on any other expansión I just don't have the money but oh well, I love the game. greetings from México :)

+HalfDeadMan Thanks HalfDeadMan. It's difficult to say. Fantasy Flight have stopped publishing them so it's a matter of retailers selling through what stock they have. The longer you wait the harder it becomes. People will start selling on eBay too. Plus Games Workshop have announce a 5th edition later this year. Not sure what it will be exactly. But a new Talisman nonetheless.

I love your vids, they have helped me so much with learning to play this awesome boardgame. I havet got all the expansions but i haven't really learnd to play with them all yet. Will the 5th edition be compatible with the 4th or do i have to get all new ones? keep up the good work imp!

Games Workshop haven't realised any details about the 5th edition so we're all in the dark about it. Nomad Games have created the digital version of Talisman for PC and PS4. The Bottled Imp yeah I play the digital version some times when we cant get our group all together. Too bad that they are a bit slow on releasing all the expansions, i really miss the woodland. I dont have facebook but if i get it i would definitly join the imp group. Have you played descent? I have played Descent but only the opening tutorial. I need to find a group of people that will go through the a couple of campaigns at least before reviewing it. I hope to review it though. +Eamon Madden Hi Eamon, not really. It's a competitive game where players compete against each other to gain control of the Crown of Command. I guess you could play solo but set different winning conditions such as getting to the Crown of Command space (centre space) in 1 hour, or getting there in 200 turns but it wouldn't be very exciting. Best played with 3 to or 4 players. By the way, we've created a Facebook group. Search for The Bottled Imp Fellowship, click on the Join button, and we'll add you in.

I have an entire new ruleset that I've developed over the years, with custom cards, tokens, etc. It transforms the game into a co-op/solo game, something akin to Eldritch Horror or defenders of the realm. I kept waiting for a co-op ruleset to be released, and then I just said "screw it" and did it myself. Much better game, in my opinion, as it relieves a lot of the cognitive dissonance present in the game, especially with good characters (why are they murdering and mugging other good characters again?)
