I'm a little late to this party, but the one small thing I can think of that you missed was near the end of Deeper Sleep after you go down the well. If you look back up the well you will see a host of shadow people looking down at you. That's why it tells you before heading down that you won't be able to turn back. Not essential to the game but a pretty cool moment.
@Kingsly98024 жыл бұрын
Scriptwelder also made the Don't Escape series which I would *highly* recommend. They aren't quite as spooky, but they have some seriously tough decisions and problem solving, as well as a bunch of cool endings. If you look close enough you might see some overlap between the two series. Heads up, Don't Escape 4 is a lot longer than it might appear on the surface. OK, no more spoilers, I really love the DS and DE series and it's hard to not fangirl over them. Something that you don't see unless you're on a second run through of the DS games: We know who the shadow figure giving you advice is at 20:00. Who is someone who leaves us notes and wants us to wake up? Someone who would want to break the cycle... Oh yeah, and OOBE is out of body experience, weird acronym usage.
@Kingsly98024 жыл бұрын
Oh, and similar-ish games you might like from other devs could be the Cube Escape/Rusty Lake series. But please, dear god, have the walkthroughs ready if you go to play them. The older games are painfully complicated and use 90's era adventure game logic.

I know I'm super late. For some reason, KZbin suggested this series to me, and not gonna lie, it made my day. The Deep Sleep Trilogy has 3 of the best indie horror games I have checked out till now, and for them, age is really just a number. I'm glad you loved going deep into the dreams. PS: I'm certain other people have pointed it out, but I searched it on KZbin with no results, so I'm not sure about it: if you haven't already, play the Don't Escape Series by the same person, Scriptwelder. There are 4 games in it, of which the last one is the only long one. At first, it would look like they belong to a separate storyline and such, but there are many recurring elements (like the blue crystals, Sidereal Plexus Corp. and of course Cody) so technically, one can consider Don't Escape to be a continuation of this. And I'm sure, you will LOVE them. Plus there's more lore to go deep into, so yeah :D. Definitely check them out!

The "Don't Escape" series from the same author is also really good. The first three are short, you could finish them all in one video. "Don't Escape 4" is longer, and ties into the mythology of both series. If you liked these, you might give those a whirl. :)

This game is very interesting. I myself often get 'stuck' in a dream, which means i know I'm dreaming but can't wake up, or I wake up into another dream. And that note that says 'as long as you don't know you're dreaming, you are safe' is so true to me because as soon as I know I'm dreaming, my mind would just conjure up everything I'm scared of. Because who knows better what you're most terrified of than yourself

Not what we asked for, but what we needed. I have seen two other people play this but I love seeing others reactions to them. Come to think of it, that self-aware nightmare I had ages ago might have pulled its' concept from this series. At least that's what I tell myself.
@rainycat349625 күн бұрын
Fun act, you can't read when you're asleep. Yes, not only are your eyes closed, but the part of your brain that interprets text is asleep. The character is kinda lucid dreaming, which means that parts of the temporal lobe that are associated with memory and self awareness are awake.

Lucid dreaming is actually really hard and, once you get it, it is really exhausting. I use to do it but I only lasted 3 months. Now I just have sleep triggers I can do to see if I am sleeping. Common one is looking down at my hands and then back up at whatever was in front of me. If the scene changed, I know I am sleeping

The Deeper Sleep full note says "I first encountered this phenomenon in the early 80's, but it would seem They have existed since the down of the human race. Commonly known as the Night Folks, of Shadow People, they live in the realm of dreams but desperately want to get to our realm, by possessing vulnerable, unoccupied bodies. As long as you don't know you are dreaming, you are safe... They attack when they sense a mind detached from its body, which sometimes happens during comas, but much more often during OOBEs and Lucid Dreaming."
