I would say Ruben Dias is more comparable as they’re both aggressive ball winners that put their body on the line every chance they get. Dias is also very decorated individually and team based: player of season PL + CL defender during city debut season, won PL each season with city(4), and CL winner.

I think we can settle the Van Dijk debate simply by asking what is he willing to do to cause harm to his body to save the goal that Vidic wouldnt.
