The only difference is a parry deflects the opponents blade with the intent for a counter attack, and a static block is deflecting the blade with the intent on safety

Personally I love when a hero like SK is basically entirely ineffective against his foes like this. Really sells him as a badass the way he fails to kill literally everything he fights except for jobber apostles.

Legit dk if this is throwing shade at SK or if it's a genuine compliment but yes, seeing SK be essentially an immovable object vs unstoppable force to these enemies really imparts the viewer with a sense of how strong Guts may become and personally that made me even more into it.
