I really enjoyed the story of San Andreas. Leaving Los Santos and experiencing such a wildly different story with government agents and gang leaders really makes CJ’s return that much more powerful. It’s almost as if he forgot the Hood after discovering the larger and wider world only to be reminded by his brother that his true home is The Grove and now he’s ready to take it back from Smoke. Truly a legendary story.

Concerning the narrative of San Andreas, when doing a recent playthru of the game where I was rly into the RPG of it all (taking over the ballas territory in the first act just to lose it all, changing appearance according to what was going on in story, attempting to make as much money as possible and build my empire, acquire many homes), I found that what happens in San fierro and las venturas was critical bc when you return to free Sweet and he claims you’ve forgotten all about the grove I felt that. What I was doing felt right but I couldn’t help but feel the guilt he was throwing bc I hadn’t come back to the city in such a long time. It worked for me

The nostalgia is strong. I played GTA 3 so much as a kid. I started playing around 2003 when I was 6 years old. I didnt know how to read but I knew how to steal cars and kill hookers. I spent so much of my childhood immersed in the GTA 3D universe I feel like I grew up in those cities.

This must have taken forever, respect+ Too bad no mods that aim to make the games run and work as intended were used. SilentPatch and a few others are a must have imo. Anyways when i got the ps2 for a christmas present back then San Andreas was already out but my parents got us gta:3 instead and this was a such a good game. there wasnt anything like it. true crimes sucked to me and my brothers and when we finally got San Andreas it stayed in our PS2 for a long time! This game will forever be a classic to me and the game set standards to sandbox games. Kids now days will never know the feeling of remembering cheat codes without a cell phone or internet around. good old days.

Great Video. Would strongly recommend playing the Netflix Mobile versions with a phone controller, I use the ‘Backbone’. They get updated constantly to this day. Also just playing the Trilogy version on PS5 and it’s amazing! Would step away from PC gaming once in a while.

Hot Take: i think GTA SA has the best radio of all the 3D Universe games. I love 3, VC, LCS and VCS' radios, but as a music lover, SA's mix of West Coast G Funk, East Coast Boom Bap, Classic House, Grunge Rock, Country, late 60s/70s Groove, 70s/early 80s Funk, New Jack Swing, Reggae and Classic Rock is just immaculate

Honestly totally a fair take. I always just loved Vice City not only because it was iconic, but also because it fed into the world so well, but San Andreas did the same thing. I definitely have more of a nostalgic connection to SA’s radio as well, Radio-X pretty much defined my music taste when I was 12 lol III is impressive in the sense that most of it is original material, it’s just really impressive the jump between each game. I’m excited to see what VI will sound like.

@tgirlswagspacecow couple things I do disagree with about this retrospective respectfully: A) Shoreside Vale isn't New Jersey. It's actually loosely on the Bronx, Yonkers, Mt. Vernon and downtown New Rochelle. B) the Lones in GTA 3 being based off of the Corleones and Sopranos isn't a bad thing. It's a good thing and a nice call back C) I disagree that the villains in 3D Universe were underwhelming. Sure Ryder's betrayal was poorly written and GTA 3's villains weren't developed enough, but I feel like Tenpenny, Pulaski, Big Smoke, and Sonny Forelli were all handled pretty well for main villains and guys like Diaz, B Dup, T Bone, Salvatore, and Jizzy all did a good job at being side villains. Looking back, Big Smoke and Lance's betrayals hit me in the gut.

In regards of GTA SA on PC, theres a mod for the original port that *mostly* fixes the stuff to be proper inline with the PS2 release Like the fog, the fixed scaling, etc

I'll be honest, I was strongly considering installing it during the troubleshooting stage lol. Only reason I didn't was bc while I was making this video, I had this strong desire to play the vanilla versions of the games only. I know some of those mods are crazy good though, I downloaded the mod that adds Liberty City and Vice City to San Andreas when I was like 16 and thought it was cool as fuck.

GTA3 also has an unmarked mission location, which is a nice way to add immersion that most following titles dont have..

You wanna know how influential and important GTA vice city is? Here in the Middle East (or at least a big chunk of it) we call all GTA's Vice City, til this day to some extent. GTA V? Nope It's Vice City 5! My personal favorite is GTA San Andreas but nobody can deny how crucial Vice City is/was.

I always hated that Claude didn’t talk Would’ve loved a DLC to GTA 4 that had Claude as the protagonist and revealed that he can talk just rarely does, fill in some of his personality and reveal that most of the people he interacted with were killed or arrested or moved away before GTA 4s plot I hate how they’ve separated the universes and then never brought the OG trilogy protagonists properly into the new canon, we have Rosenberg but no Tommy, it’s lame. Really hoping there’s more history in GTA 6 that reveals an altered form of events did in fact take place in the 80s Would’ve really loved if they referenced Claude in 4, just a few little Easter eggs to say “this is a new game and timeline but some of the stuff in 3 did happen in some way, just very different” Just like how they referenced the Grove Street gang in GTA V, lowkey implying that CJ moved away again and the gang has fallen off because of it Tommy is likely going to be referenced Meanwhile Claude drops off the face of the earth and his story is erased Lowkey have a theory/headcanon that Niko IS Claude, just completely reimagined, he gets betrayed by a love interest in a really different way Would still really like Claude to be revealed as a separate character in the HD universe tho :/

Rock games could just recycle the old games and rebuild them and make a whole new story with the same characters. Only problem is voice actors for sure they can bring back Tommy Vercetti from vice city original grand theft auto games. You know they just need to recycle the old games and reboot all them into a whole new story and make a modernized to our year . Keep the older stories displayed in a Museum.

Actually GTA 5s three ending songs are all unique songs made for the game I think there called Sleep Walking, it's a setup, Don't come close! Also you'd have to of been there to see how big this game actually was dude people went crazy for it that's with no internet! I think GTA proves that games don't make people violent or there would be millions of killers right now 😂

I'm afraid GTA 4 is best game in the franchise and best rockstar game. The story, the world, the characters, the atmosphere personally are my favourites out of any of their games. Vice City is a close second definitely and it's my favourite location. Everything you said is absolutely correct but imo GTA 4 just has that edge above it. Call it me being a Slavic immigrant and Niko being a relatable character but god that game is perfect despite it's flaws
