Hey, good to see you here. Thanks so much dude! I'm on the fence about covering Beethoven soon, or waiting until it's out of beta. Not sure yet :/

Ya, I’m sure the production time is heavy on these. You’re quite excellent at covering it all and in ways an idiot like me can understand it. FWIW this vid is still helpful and enlightening to me and I’ve been on Amadeus since it released. Woulda been a godsend a while back when scraping this info was pretty difficult. I doubt Beethoven will change much outta beta so it might be worth dropping that one sooner than later. Even your quick community features vid from a while back is still the best for that. 😉 excellent work as always my friend! You’re very appreciated!!

Great video man! You and Ron Cavagnaro have the Deluge community firmware features covered really well! I'm loving the community firmware. I just installed 1.1 today... Like damn, I was still recovering from the awesomeness of C1.0 and now 1.1 is just even more nuts... its like having a new device with all these new features. For anyone who hasn't tried it, honestly, give it a go, because its so much better and I really think you are insane to not update - remember, existing functionality is the same, and you can just learn the features you're interested in slowly over time. Nobody needs to be overwhelmed - learn it gradually!

To be honest, the first time I noticed sample dropping on my Deluge was when they introduced Wavetables. Old songs I'd made wouldn't play the same, and it never seemed to be resolved. I haven't noticed any sample dropping on the new firmware that wasn't present during that particular update, but that's just my own experience.

Question: Will my sequences and songs I have written on the older more original firmware be able to be used, and added to?:-0
@RSKT_music5 ай бұрын
Yes! All of my old tracks work. You can also make things in the new firmware and roll back if you have to, however, if you use a feature that wasn't previously available (eg, the new arpeggiator), the file won't load. It still seems to work regardless of compressors or the new reverb though, so that's always good.

@@boxed-sound honestly, I'd just jump straight in, but you don't have to. Hey Will! Good to see you here. Thanks for watching mate. How'd you go getting your Deluge repaired?
@willswitchcraft6 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. I got it back (with a brand new motherboard) and the triggering was terrible. I guess the company in Toronto Canada didn't do the proper installation of all the trigger pads segments. Had to send it back for new pads and some QC, and now it's a dream. I was without it for 2 months, and it cost quite a bit (even though Synthstrom decided not to charge for the motherboard) but all's well that ends well. Really enjoying a lot of the new Com Feat. Firmware. Still hoping someone will develop a more advanced Delay, so that we can control the feedback and effects level separately, etc., but hey - no complaints. Nice to own a piece of gear that keeps getting better and more powerful......
@RSKT_music6 ай бұрын
@@willswitchcraft glad to hear it man! Sorry you had such a rough time, but good to hear it's back in your hands. Yeah, I'm hoping the delay is expanded on too, amongst other things haha
@willswitchcraft6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I'm sure there will be great things to come. Very happy that the reverb is so much better now. I guess I just wish there were other update options which would implement hardware - like an expression pedal input (to use in lieu of a modulation wheel, etc.), perhaps something as basic and useful as a Sustain pedal input!? I know that these things aren't possible without dedicated jacks, etc. I guess some of those features could be best implemented via MIDI, but it's not ideal. I still love my Deluge and enjoy working on it, and at least they ARE making improvements quite regularly. So glad that you continue to upload such excellent content - I'm sure for many people your videos are a big part of what keeps the interest up, and people educated and updated. Very helpful. In my opinion Synthstrom should just have you on the payroll, to make sure that you keep creating content like this, keeping their gear relevant and understood.........
@RSKT_music6 ай бұрын
@@willswitchcraft Haha, thanks man. That sure would be nice, but sadly it's not the case. In terms of updates, really all I want is a function to export all clips/tracks from song and arranger view. I don't even care if it takes 10 minutes to export, but it would be nice. I know the Dirtwave M8 can do this. It takes time, but it's hassle free and would make life a lot easier for finishing things off in a DAW. I think the only other thing I'd want (and this might be impossible), would be a way to have pure data patches available on the Deluge, so you could run organelle scrips on it and go crazy with customization. Hopefully one day something like that can happen.

Thanks for your teavhings. Don't know why but in grid view, even after selecting green on, it just doesn't stays there. How do you erase a clip on grid mode?
@RSKT_music6 ай бұрын
So you need to go into the settings to change the latching between green and blue mode. I think to erase you hold down on a clip (in blue mode) and then press delete. Definately have a read of the release notes on github for this if you need more info. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
