I was the assistant chef at the Mast Farm Inn in Valle Crusis back in the 80's. I have never heard this story. I have heard the story about the Minister hanging himself, but I have been to St. John's Church very late at night and the worst thing there was me and the other ASU students. You did pronounce Valle Crusis correctly

I can believe this. Wife and I came across a pack of wild dogs that tried to attack us while we were driving near the Little Switzerland area a few years ago.

According to the description you gave of this creature, I've heard it called by a few different names. I think it depends upon which part of the country one is from ... Dogman, Wolfman, and Werewolf. I've never heard a Demon Dog described the way you did. I heard Demon Dogs described as huge all black dogs with large teeth and glowing eyes.

Kudos for spreading Appalachia everywhere. My grandma's childhood was during WW2 in the Andes mountains of Peru. The "serranos' were viewed by others as hillbillies and her stories of rural farming and the arrival of an American coal mining operation really reflect in your channels content, despite the obvious geological disparity. She has her own demon dog story. The only teacher in the village became ill with stomach pains and she volunteered to nurse him overnight. During a late and quiet hour, she went to the kitchen to prepare him a tea when a large black dog emerged from the kitchen doorway. Without pausing or acknowledging her, it fluidly passed right by and disappeared out of sight. It soon became apparent, the dog was neither owned nor seen by the other villagers and it was never seen again. Consulations with local shamans and amateur research suggests an omen of death. The doorway was also interpreted as death coming and going undisturbed. This occured when she was a child but as an adult, she lost my grandpa and her eldest daughter within a year. In her later years, she laughs at the grandiosity of it all, brushing it off as a stray seeking refuge for the night, getting spooked by an unsuspecting girl, and letting himself out.

@@johnbrinkley7440 are you sure that before going into that cave outside Georgetown that you hadn’t eaten a plate of Carlos’ famous tacos al pastor with some green chili at the Lucha Cantina in Georgetown? 🌮. I can tell you from personal experience that whenever I eat that I too hear growling, animal-like sounds all night long. 👻 🎂Just don’t sleep too close to the fire! 🔥🧯 Seriously though, there are sorts of animals using those caves from raccoons and possums to coyotes, bear and lions.

My husband and I do genealogy research and have walked many, many cemeteries over years. There are only a few that I have ever been in that totally creeped me out. But there have been a few. So it is possible there is a evil person buried there and the spirit lurks.

Yall are describing what people all over the place are calling "The black dog " now red eyes are the eyes of the berserker aka a killing machine. Yellow eyes are that of a creature that has intelligence can think before it acts and acts accordingly if threatened.
