The conventional helicopter was invented in 1927 but was rarely used until the Sikorsky R-4 began mass production in 1944 for the US Air Force. By 1947, helicopters were being used commercially in America.

1949- America, about a decade after the Great Depression, Post war which means high taxes and a recovering economy, and Cold War territory. It was probably pretty tense. Especially with the nuclear fear mongering.

Actually, America came out on top in more ways than one in the after effects of WW2. The economy was booming, businesses were growing, and people were getting better jobs, with better pay and benefits. And last but not least, politics seemed to have become a lot less volatile, with very few polarizing issues until the sixties. The Cold War was happening, but it wasn't as scary of a boogeyman yet, and the Korean War had yet to start. Though, admittedly, it wasn't a perfect time for Americans, especially farmers, who were finding it difficult to compete with the large businesses popping up.
@hamjaro29206 жыл бұрын
if it's the first time testing this mixture, surely it'd only be tested on a single person rather than a whole group, just to see if it's particularly volatile (5:35)

1) I don't really know much about what millennials know, but we spend two years on American history. 1949 was quite good for America. We were out of the Great Depression and our war-time production was turned to consumer goods and our economy was on the rise. The 1950s is famous for its innovations and all around greatness, if you ignore the racism. 2) Why do I feel the need to do numbered comments, recently? I've done a lot of them.

Ive never played this game before but on that beeping device I think you were supposed to match the green frequency with the red frequency in the background by adjusting the knobs with the same speed and the same width. I also don't think theres going to be anything in the game that tells you to do it. It was just something you were supposed to figure out. So no spoilers lol

Actually, I am a millennial fascinated in wars and their results. 1949- A time was an oncoming of containment of communism, and countries are still either licking their wounds, or being welcomedinto the world as a seperate country. The destabiliztion of the middle east was also rising, with the formation of Israel as a blemish to the islamic states that surrounded them. Former colonies of Britian and other imperialistic nations were finding their stability without a stronger nation looking over their shoulder. The UN, NATO, and the Warsaw pact were all formed, and the Germans were running across the border towards capitalist freedom. Korea is heating up and appears to have split, with the communists being hostile. Vietnam has not peaked much interest, and China is mopping up a civil war, pushing democrats into isolation on Taiwan, The tiny Japanese island handed over to China. This is also the Baby Boom beginning. Many spouses and girlfriends were left without their loved ones for years, leading them to have a good time to reward their heroic return. I now realise i could have stopped with "Actually, i am that millenial that knows what happened in 1949." Did i forget to mention the soviets begin work on an actual super soldier? Or was it all a conspiracy? Either way, they did terrible experiments throughout the years, bur this year was one of the beginning... If any of this is wrong, criticize me. This is my supposed knowledge of the 1949 year. This took me the whole fucking video, too. I should have taken the criticism and watched it through. Take 2, coming up! Oh yeah. This was a more "fill in the gaps" moment. Oh well. If you read all this, cheers. You read a paragraph of rubbish that might not be completely wrong. Until next time, this was Cinimod, and have a good time!

The Germans used helicopters quite a bit in WWII (they'd been in trials for years before then). Mostly for supplies or in observation roles. There was a few designed for para drops by the Luftwaffe, though Hitler's ban on these after Crete didn't lead to many being used in that role.
@KettyFey6 жыл бұрын
Tangentially the traditional appearance of a "Flying Saucer" matches a branch of German helicopter development. In truth the Americans (and Soviets) captured a load of the plans for these flying disks, and when trialing them covered up this secret (potentially groundbreaking, though obviously not compared to conventional helicopters) by spreading stories about aliens and UFOs (better to have the conspiracy theorists investigating nonsense instead of your secret weapons projects that the enemy might get wind of).
