Scott Cawthon really needs to return to this glorious work
@Toasterloaf5 жыл бұрын
I actually wanna see him make a competent Christian game. There's a lot of potential in Christianity, and I think The Pilgrim's Progress was a step in the right direction, but it kinda fell short in some nonsensical design choices. Making a whole RPG where you fight passively as a shepherd of the lord seems like a kind of wholesome experience.

Scott Cawthon has recently made an announcement that he is retiring. This news is very unfortunate to hear. This is a big loss to FNAF, it’s franchise, and its community. However, this leaves a possibility for Scott to return to his older franchises like The Desolate Abandon to some extent. He stated alongside his announcement he posted on Scott Games that he misses his older franchises he worked on before making FNAF.
@JoseMat29533 жыл бұрын
@@tavinh8 That is a good sign indeed, imo. Even though his retirement isn't really the end of FNAF.

Corope Actually, the hate came from a misunderstanding of the game’s ending which Scott removed (well, a specific part at least), to prevent more misconceptions (which he regrets doing in hindsight). I haven’t finished the game yet so I can’t tell you what it is for now. Update: Another comment that I forgot about. I’ve already beaten the game since those 2 years. The controversy involved some ending text that said something along the lines of “for all the children who never got to grow up.” Due to the context of the game’s ending, which involves a human fetus (presumably the last of the human race), that was preserved by the coffee robot to grow up in a virtual simulation, combined with the fact that Scott is a very open Christian, people thought that it was supposed to be an anti-abortion message. Scott clarified that the text was referring to things like miscarriages and kids dying at a young age.

Several elements of this remind me of an old indie game that probably very few know of these days - Loonyland 2: Winter's Woods. The music, for example, and those spinning turrets. I have to wonder if there's any actual connection? Perhaps Scott was partially inspired by some those old indie games from Hamumu?

This takes me so far back. When rainbows weren't gay and when the world was a good place to be in. When we would go outside and play for hours, and go home exhausted. When we would watch videos having a good time not having to think about what was actually happening in the world. When we were just normal kids. And then "The Desolate Hope" came out. Me and my friends loved it, we would play it at my place. It was so jolly every Christmas, waking up to see gifts and chocolate under the tree, when we would get lost in the snow and make snowmen. When we would make igloos and try to get inside of them only for them to fall. When there was a hot summer out and swim in the pool. When we would get bug bites and act like we were zombies. When we made a water gun war. When we would only go inside our homes to sleep or go to the bathroom. And when the fall started and we would go to school, we were still happy because we knew we would see each other there. When everything was simple and everything was easy. But how long must it last? "The only inevitable thing is change."
