As a trans women I can attest that there are huge divides in thinking within the trans community. To say that the majority of trans women believe that other trans women should compete in women sports is just false. From my experience talking with other trans folks, around 20 to 30÷ of trans people I talk to are in favour of that. A lot of trans people, on the left and right, are upset over the public perception that the trans community is a monolith of thought and dislike how the media claims we all stand for certain issues when we really don't.

Yeah it's the classic in/out group thing - we tend to believe groups other than ourselves are a monolith, where as our group has huge diversity of thought etc. And the loudest voices / more extreme beliefs are the ones who are heard the most by the normies, so we tend to have distorted views of all these groups of people, especially if we throw our pre-concieved notions and biases into the mix...

I'm a libertarian who never really watched any of destiny stuff, all I've heard about him is that he's a pretty good liberal (or left wing) debater. Going into this I expected to see some Hasan/Vaush type of person, but holy fuck... This guy is actually insanely good at how he approaches questions, doesn't throw around random buzz words, is actually willing to debate the other sides in good faith, and it's very clear just from these 3 hours of the podcast that he's also extremely knowledgable. The left really could use more people like this if we ever want to get back to normalizing good faith political discourse (not saying that the right just has candidates laying around...). I have watched Destiny semi-regularly for the last few years and I have had this video in my "Watch Later" for a couple weeks. Gotta admit, I had no real interest in watching the episode. I have pretty narrow viewing habits on YT and I had no idea what this podcast was. F*ckin blown away man. This episode was FIRE! I always appreciate when I come across a rare channel, where the hosts are not pandering morons. This was great. It was really engaging and if I'm being honest, I wasn't really expecting these dudes to have this much depth to their opinions and be so inquisitive about all these different topics. He’s improved his craft tremendously as well. Seeing this type of content is something I wish every channel and podcast would do.
