Taylor, what a woman does with her wedding dress, is a microcosm of the relationship. Case in point - I had a dear friend who was in a rocky marriage (of years and years length) ; one day, in conversation, I asked where her wedding dress was? she guffawed and said - "in a ball, in the bottom of the closet" . That you not only want to preserve it, but display it, speaks VOLUMES!

I think a smaller bridal shop gave you better service and ideas to help with your gown. Your wedding was simply top of the line. Unfortunately many young women can't afford that. You and Lyle worked hard to get where you are and that is very adorable in my eyes. So you deserve something for your hard work. I estimate this wedding was more than $200,000. How did I get that figure? Rental of castle, rental of chirs, tables, silver wear, table acessaries, open bar, band, dj, videographer, photographer, hair, makeup, food, cake, etc. These expensive weddings are dreams, but I see money that is gone for one day. Marriage is the bond of love for two people no matter where they say their vows. My dream as a little girl was to do what I loved, have a house and dogs. I accomplished that, threw in an abusive husband which I divorced. Best thing because I went back to college and graduated from three universities with degrees. Yes, I did have dogs! So now in my 70's I embark on another journey and move to a highrise, sell my house that is too big. But I won't keep the money from the sale, I believe money should help others and so it will go to nonprofits. It is better to give while you are alive than dead. Even jewelry because I can tell the story of each peiece. I hope you wear those pearls again because they are meant to be worn, enjoy what you have while you are young. You don't know what the future holds especially in today's word angle NYC. The mothers looked beautiful. Did you know you can get your wedding flowers preserved and framed if done right. A nice gesture with the flowers to your mother, never saw that done. Of course in Western PA. one tradition is the cookie table, some even have a cookie room so all the guests can take home cookies. It began long ago when on people couldn't afford weddings so everyone made the food and the cookie table began so the guests could take home a rembrance. Also cake slices were sliced uo, and given to guests. The story is if you put it under your pillow a single woman would dream of who her husband would be. Best of luck with your future. You will have many journeys as you go through rough the years. Just remember don't go to bed angry.
