There's some real genius in this remix of the original 1972 soul hit. I hope the band (actually a large orchestra) got royalties because it played several times a night in every disco in the world in 1977.

When this came out, I remember saying, "This sounds like 3 track!" Brass in the left, strings, bass, drum kit and the lead vocal in the center, Hammond and geetar in the right. backup vocals on either side. LOTS of R&B was done on old Ampex 300-3s back in the day. I need to get ahold of Moulton.... GREAT production!

This song was re-released in 1977 with the Tom Moulton remix. It was originally released in 1972.
