The tv camera showed Mixon on the bench really frustrated and pissed. Not to mention several Houston players were looking rather worried. I knew then Detroit had a good chance to come back! Go Lions!

As bad a game as Goff had, that TD pass to Laporta is the best throw I've seen him make. On the run, perfect placement hitting him in stride 30 yards downfield, BEAUTIFUL pass. Credit him also for not getting so flustered that he couldn't finish well like he did. Great composure, he got back to his usual self down the stretch, hitting St Brown like always, then that other really nice long one to Laporta, and Williams against an elite defense. He seems to have to have one of these wobbly games every year, good that he got it out of his system, and we were still able to get the W.

Go Lions! Last year the Eagles were like 10-1 and they went through a tough stretch of games where they played Miami, Dallas twice, Buffalo, Kansas City, San Francisco and Seattle. They ended up collapsing after that, then being eliminated in the first round by Tampa Bay. I don’t see The Lions going through the same thing, but to reach their ultimate goal this season they have to stay focussed, stay healthy, and put together entire games. They were up 21-10 at the half vs. the vikings and lost the lead before getting that winning kick. They were up 24-3 on the packers and didn’t score another point that game. This game was the opposite. They started poorly and finished strong. 8-1 is great, and I’m ecstatic about it. I just want them to be playing their absolute best ball going into the playoffs. Thats when it counts the most! Go Lions!
@johnboehmer6683Күн бұрын
We still have a few tough teams to play, but that tough stretch you described Philly going through, we just went through...and won them all. No team is good enough to blow out the opposition consistently. What you just described there is what winning teams do - just enough to get the W. It's not that Kansas City or Detroit got unfocused or let down in these tight wins, it's that beating good teams on the road in the NFL is unbelievably difficult. But the best teams find a way. There is a luck element to it, the ability to stay healthy. We got beat up in this game, we could be in some trouble there, though I don't think anyone will be out more than a couple weeks. Laporta looks moderately serious.

@@johnboehmer6683 I agree with what you said. I’ll take the dub every time. Especially against good teams on the road. The Lions I grew up on never did anything remotely close to what this team is doing. I think they’re purpose driven and goal oriented. Sometimes I have to pinch myself! 🙂

The only two interceptions of the five I say are Goffs fault are the two deep Balls to Jamo. The first one was underthrown instead of hitting him out in front which would have been a touchdown and the second one Jamo turned left to the sideline and Goff threw it to the right so Jamo had to turn around for it.. the other three interceptions were flukey plus hail mary. But a W is a W..... GO LIONS!

Bates several misses in preseason had me very uneasy in our kicking game. Then he missed the extra point in the 2nd game...uh oh. And all he was hitting in terms of field goals early was chip shots, but at least he was making them. It was just a gradual improvement and confidence building that lead to this sensational game. Now his resume looks incredible - 12 for 12, with three 50+ yarders...kicking game girls from a potential weakness to a strength, this is our year!

10-7 LaPorta TD. Same score as Vikings game. I thought, ok, we aren’t going to get blown out ala Ravens in 2023. I thought in the second half while still trailing, they never gave up.

either they knew all of our playcalls by listening in on our comms or they have the best defensive coordinator ever born. rewatch that game and look at the coverage on downs and how fast they were reacting to run calls. some players doing it sometimes is how we do it theyh had whole linebacker core and safeties always knowing what was going to happen. and we still beat them.

Two of the best running backs in the NFL, and you are pass happy. If the game was lost, it’s on Ben Johnson. Run the fuking ball. Throwing it 30 times is ridiculous.
@johnboehmer6683Күн бұрын
You don't know what pass-happy is - Burrow just threw 56 times Thursday, THAT is excessive passing. Something to keep in mind, the run game isn't nearly as successful if you don't mix in enough pass plays to keep the defense off-balance.
