Each time I see the devastation of the fire, I am reminded of how the Lord covered you all with a blanket of protection. Along with all of your viewers and friends, I am so grateful that the Lord woke you all before you could be touched by the fire. God is ever so FAITHFUL! Again, HE will take a mess and turn it into a miracle... and bring you into a better position than before the devastation happened. I loved seeing you two brothers together. The bond will never loosen. Your parents are so godly proud of all of you boys. They raised you all in the nurture and spirit of love. Grandpa will never tire of doing things with his sons. Matt is being blessed in so many ways by doing things with your dad. Never stop doing things with your father; it’s keeping him young (not that he’s old). I just love seeing you all together with your wives at your parent’s home. That’s what God. Intended. He blesses the whole household. Please know that you, Rae, and the boys are being loved on by people all around the world. We look forward to seeing you celebrate the moving in day of your beautiful new home. It’s going to give your family so much joy. And don’t be afraid to enjoy your new home. We all want to see your family blessed beyond measure. You all had put so much work into the cabin… and fire has taken it away. BUT IT DID NOT TAKE ANY OF YOU AWAY. Now, the Lord will cause you to rejoice again. You know, it seems like I’ve bonded with the Doss family bc 1. Grandpa and Grandma are only a few years older than my late husband and I. 2. We have three sons very near the same age as Chad, Kyle and Matt. 3. The closeness of the parents to each other, then the closeness of the sons to their parents, then the closeness of the sons to each other plus the way they carry on when together! That’s a WHOLE lot like our boys! 4. My late husband is so much like Grandpa. He has a huge soft heart but he also reacts like a firecracker when it’s needed. I can tell from time to time grandma most likely has to rein grandpa in at times so he won’t explode. And I say this in a good way. Nothing bad about this character at all! 5. How close and loving this family is to each other. It seems like every video has something that reminds me of my own family and I feel so blessed. My husband Charlie died with brain cancer four years ago and the hole it’s left in my heart is huge not to mention my sons losing their Dad. Our family is missing that man more than I can even express. Healing is slow but with Gods healing hands and arms we’re getting there. Hold on tight to your loved ones bc we never know! We never know! God bless you all!

I agree with your opening comments. Seeing fire damage on video is very different than experiencing it in person. Especially the smell. We were going to buy a mobile home until there was a fire. I went to see it and it really changed me. That fire is a major life-changing event. It affects you in ways you would not think possible. If you have never experienced one then you just don't know. Everyone deals with things like this in different ways. I think Chad and his family are doing well.

They have to talk about the fire. It is a tragedy that caused nightmares from a real life event in their lives. I pray for them every day. I too with my 2 toddler kids went thru a house fire and we lost everything. The fire department said we barely made it out of it. My youngest is now 37 and I still have triggers that take me back to that nightmare. I pray for them and will continue to do so. 🙏 Thank you for sharing❤

Having unfortunately gone through two house fires,I certainly can understand how Chad feels. And can smell it.The first fire we had I had to actually drag my brother out of his bed and onto the roof. I then had to find some clothes to wear because I was a teenager and would not go out in only a T-shirt. Problem was most of my clothes were downstairs in the kitchen in the washer soaking.And that was where the fire started because of old aluminum wiring. I managed to get out about the same time the fire department arrived. By then the windows were popping . But I still have respiratory problems because I stayed too long in the smoke.. It gutted the entire downstairs. Luckily it was a duplex and we moved in the other side until the fire side was rebuilt.But we pretty much lost everything of sentimental value. All of the baby photos , the only picture we had of my late great grandma and all our childhood photos. Those are the things that you can’t replace.

Chad does have some beautiful critters. The goats are NOT lacking in any hunger. They do not miss any meals, as evidenced by the full bellies and sheer training they have to go to their dishes. They are very content and healthy. Herc is a big love magnet. Chad, Rae, Case and the 2 littles need to talk through it, they are in a very hard grieving time. It is a lot different from the death of a spouse or someone, but having your home totally destroyed is still a loss and we all have to go through that grieving time. What is really getting them through this time is their unwavering faith GOD always opens another door, no matter how satan wants them to turn away from GOD, they are staying with CHRIST, through prayers and strength only HE CAN GIVE! JOY does come in the morning.

You don’t have a house fire and then next day it’s done and over with. Especially one as devastating as that one was. It’s a process to deal with all the physical aspects of everything; insurance, moving, buying new clothes and other needs. Getting new school needs taken care of. The emotional toll it takes on everyone is real and PTSD is not unexpected for any of them. I’m amazed they are doing so well. Kyle and Shannon, I am so sorry that Chad and Rae and the boys had to go through that. It is very scary. No one can fully imagine the terror and the danger to the entire family. I went through something like this as a child when we almost lost my dad in a fire -- I won't go into a lot of detail since I've posted it before on Chad's site. Kyle Shannon every time I see Chad‘s little cottage I want to cry seriously that was so hot so quick and Kate was right in the next room and Chad had to wake him up and get him out of there. All I can say is he had a guardian angel watching over them, oh my God it’s just devastating. I’ve been through a fire and I lived in an apartment building and it’s not no fun. It’s scary now that I own a home the house next-door had a fire and that even more scarier it’s just devastating to lose anything to a fire.😢😢😢😢
