👉 *LYRICS for 'The Devil and The Huntsman' aka 'The Wild, Wild Berry'* 👈 _Young man came from hunting faint and weary_ _"What does ail my lord, my dearie?"_ _"Oh brother dear, let my bed be made_ _For I feel the gripe of the woody nightshade"_ _Many a man would die as soon_ _Out of the light of a mage's moon_ _'Twas not by bolt, but yet by blade_ _Can break the magic that the devil made_ _'Twas not by fire, but was forged in flame_ _That can drown the sorrows of a huntsman's pain_ _This young man he died fair soon_ _By the light of the hunters' moon_ _'Twas not by bolt, nor yet by blade_ [But] _of the berries of the woody nightshade_ _"Oh father dear lie here be safe_ (?) _From the path that the devil made"_ I can't find 'The Devil and The Huntsman' lyrics anywhere so I'm going from what I think it sounds like to me on the original upload by the official youtube channel, WaterTower Music and from the original song this version was based on (see below). If anyone finds the lyrics or think it says something else please let me know. The line with (?) is the only one I'm having doubts with. Again there is no official lyric sheet as of yet since the soundtrack has just been released. ================================= *Song Info:* The original song, 'The Wild, Wild Berry' is possibly based on a Anglo-Scottish border ballad, 'Lord Randall' and tells the tale of Lord Randall returning home to his mother after visiting his lover. Through the mother's inquiry, it is gradually revealed that the Lord has been poisoned by his lover. 'The Devil and The Huntsman' by Sam Lee and Daniel Pemberton is based on Ray Driscoll of Dulwich, London version of 'Lord Randall' and is called 'The Wild, Wild Berry'. *Other Notes:* Printed in English Dance and Song, vol. 56 no. 3, Autumn 1994. Ray Driscoll was born in Ireland in 1922, but grew up in London. He learned this song and its unusual tune while living in Shropshire, from an itinerant farm worker called Harry Civil, who used to work on a nearby farm and slept in the barn. Harry was infamous in the locality and was thrown out of pubs on more than one occasion. *Ray Driscoll's 'The Wild, Wild Berry'* _Young man come from hunting, faint and weary_ _"What doth ail my lord, my dearie?"_ _"Oh mother dear, let my bed be made_ _For I feel the gripe of the woody nightshade."_ _Lie low, sweet Randal_ _Now all you young wains that do eat full well_ _And they that sup right merry_ _'Tis better, I entreat, to have toads for your meat_ _Than to eat of the wild, wild berry._ _This young man, he died eftsoon_ _By the light of a hunter's moon_ _'Twas not by bolt, nor yet by blade,_ _But the deathly gripe of the deadly nightshade._ _Lie low, sweet Randal_ _Now all you young men that do eat full well_ _And they that sup right merry_ _'Tis better, I entreat, to have toads for your meat_ _Than to eat of the wild, wild berry._ _This lord's false love, they hanged her high_ _For her deeds were the cause of her love to die_ _And within her locks, they entwined a braid_ _Of the leaves and berry of the deadly nightshade._ _Lie low, sweet Randal_ _Now all you young men that do eat full well_ _And they that sup right merry_ _'Tis better, I entreat, to have toads for your meat_ _Than to eat of the wild, wild berry._

This originates (is adapted) from a reeeeeally old English folk-song -- "Lord Randal," or "The Wild Wild Berry," or dozens of other variations -- it is thought to date back to the 1200s (possibly based on Randal, Earl of Chester, d. 1232), but the first known version was an Italian ballad sung in 1600s Verona. This updated version is fantastic.

NOOOO MY DUDE. There's even an interview with Guy Richie saying this movie sucks basically (if u read between the lines). He is the shit tho but its all fked now. in case u haven't noticed almost EVERY film now is trash. yea this one too. the only thing left is good actors and by the time Disney is on star wars 23 they just dont care anymore. plus usually bad scripts, baaaad editors, dumass test audiences. so they start with MAYBE a good script then producers want to change things, then they really fuck shit up post production, then R to PG13 bc mo money nigga, then 1000 product placements bc mo mo money. lets not forget china bc mo mo mo money and on and on. if u let actors act and dont fuck with the script and most of all LET THE DIRECTOR DIRECT, this might have been good. Just some lyric corrections here, removed the music to just get the vocal track isolated. - Faint and weary - not faint tired weary - what does ail my lord my deary - not what is that - many a man - not men need a man - Oh father dear thy have thee saved - not thy heavy save, or lie and be safe as seen elsewhere. Other than that, good job.
