'Superb' is the only word to describe this presentation, and the personal appearances at beginning and end certainly enhance the experience. The premise is the same as that of Poe's 'Cask of Amontillado', as many will know, but the writing is every bit as good. You must surely make an album for the enjoyment of young children, (the 'Uncle Eddie's Bedtime Tales' series? - illustrated, of course)and this story should be the very first one they encounter. Many thanks.

I could find no data regarding the author. I like to give credit where it's due, but I suspect Lyle W. Holden is a nom de plume of a writer who wished to remain anonymous....perhaps they were a bit self conscious about borrowing heavily from Mr. Poe. E.E.F.

I don't know who this narrator is, but i want to marry him. Y'all don't tell my husband; he's funny about stuff like that!

Was anybody else reminded of the doctor’s transformation scene from Hellbound: Hellraiser II?
@jonathanwpressman4 жыл бұрын
No. Like how he was lured in?
@niriop4 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Pressman I was more reminded of the wires crushing him like the vines. But also what the narrator says reminded me of what Julia says to the doctor: “But you wanted to know...”

WOW! Just wow! What a great discovery you are, Mr French - truly a man of many great talents. 🌟🎉🎭🧠👁 Even your appearance and timbre of voice work to create a powerful atmosphere of mystery, dread and delicious fear...with a tinge of humor, juste like the great master, Vincent Price. I wish you wrote, created and acted in wonderful, schlocky yet terrifying masterpieces, following in the footsteps of William Castle. I'd be sitting in the first row😁🤗 Long may you live and prosper🖖

Thanks, Jonathan. I use a video editor called a Cyberlink Power director. I find (for me, anyway) awkward to edit with. It's old and I need a different system. It's slow to process the videos. But, you knowhow you're used to something and find it difficult to change. If you or anyone reading this can suggest a good , simple FAST video editor, let me know. Cheers. E.E.F.

I couldnt eat mushrooms for months after watching the Japanese horror/sci-fi flick Attack of the Mushroom people. Now I can't eat pineapple! Damn! Great job again by Mr. French. The pulpiest of plots with the purplest prose all delivered with a velvety evocative voice. Great fun! Thanks.

...and THANK YOU for listening. I hope you've subscribed. Cheers. E.E.F. (PS my reading of The Voice in the Night on this channel inspired the makers of Attack of the Mushroom People- the story, not MY recording, of course.)

Wow! i had no idea it would end that way. grisly tale - brrrr shudder! It's so great to hear your voice again :) i was listening to Derek Jacobi reading a Cadfael mystery - i hate to say it, but it was so boring and i longed for something read with verve and meaning! thanks so much! (love your new intros.)

I could never pin it down, but I know what (or who) your voice reminds me of. I do not recall his name, but your voice is very akin to the narrator of George Pal’s *War of the Worlds,* and a wonderful voice it is. Have you thought of voicing *Who Goes There?* and maybe the short story *The Things* (a perspective of the Thing from John Carpenter’s film)
@FrenchEdward063 жыл бұрын
You're referring to the narrator Paul Frees. " Who Goes There" is narrated on this channel. Cheers. E.E.F.

@@FrenchEdward06 there's not been a single video of yours that I've seen yet where I don't think of Charlton Heston when I hear your voice. He was always regarded for his exceptional oratory talents, with many considering him to be the most talented orator of the 20th century. I swear you sound just like him.
