Hey folks, this is the 4th episode in the Avebury series. Episode 1-3 cover 'Windmill Hill', 'West Kennet Long Barrow', and the 'Valley of Stones'. The next in the series will be of Avebury Henge and Stone Circle. The series will also cover The Sanctury and Silbury Hill, and more importantly, how they relate to one and other. As always, feedback is very much appreciated. Stay safe 👏👍

Thanks. Amazing footage of the ancient waterways. So the entrance to the Valley of Stones wil also have been their exit way and solves the problem of transport from Valley of Stones to both Avebury henge and perhaps Stonehenge. They went by water. The white oxen may also have been involved of course. Wondering if they were placed before, during or after the advance and retreat of the water levels. Perhaps the large sarsens may have been linked by some dry stone walling, since re-used elsewhere, to provide substantiall walls. Druidic records suggest the main purpose of both sites as major tribal meeting places - for market and parliaments, as well as burials. A straight route can be traced from Silbury to Bath, through barrow fields and beyond. Names Avebury and Amesbury may refer to post Roman rule of Brithonic Aurelius Ambrosius and his brother Uther (since suppressed by Romish Catholic Saxon monks.) Sul, Sil, Sel, Sal and Sol may refer to Brithonic Solar Sun God. Cf. Salisbury and its earlier incarnation at Old Sarum, next to Stonehenge - also quite a large mound. Many thanks for the fly past. Excellant work.

Thank you! This is where I spend all my Solstices. It's a fascinating place. Made my EMF go off. And one Summer Solstice I found a pair of brand-new winter boots in my size in there. It's definitely my favourite place to spend a night.

Great to hear you enjoyed the vid! And thank you for the sub! It is certainly a magical place, I love visiting there. Although haven't spent the night, you brave thing. Did you hear the hound? Well done on the free pair of boots. I have met people there before making offerings. Thanks again 👍
@HekateMaenad Жыл бұрын
@@LamboPhoto Unfortunately, no hounds. :'( Yet. We'll see about this year. My EMF went off like crazy when I put down my offerings and sat down to meditate. I had to turn it off. It was constantly beeping. Made me a bit nervous, to be honest, but I ended up having the most amazing trance there. So, from my experience, it's definitely a highly spiritually charged place. The whole area is but the Den is my favourite spot to worship and connect with the spirit world.

Great story, Chris. I'm really impressed with your graphics and animation again. Of course my favorite parts were the opening and the rest of the Insta 360 footage! hahaha Excellent work!
@LamboPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christian! The animation hopefully helps 'tell the story', but it does take quite a bit of time to create, hence new videos aren't weekly anymore. But I think it pays off. What makes the opening and 360 scenes your favourite then? Are you keen on the 360? Keen to get feedback on this, as it's my first go using any 360 cameras, let alone this new Insta360 X3. Thanks mate, all the best 👏👍
@MainlightDrone2 жыл бұрын
@@LamboPhoto Ok, just a mini critique. Your video is a mix of humor and serious. I might have edited it a little more. You kinda went on about the rain and weather but, heck, I loved the Insta 360 footage! I always like it on everybody's channels. The animation is extremely good and adds a lot of credibility to the video but you mix it with humor and I don't know if that's the best thing because of the contrast. Do you watch Tom Scott's channel? He packs a lot into 5 minutes. I'm always really conscious of my viewers' time and I'm always concerned that they'll get bored and turn my video off. Actually my analytics tell me they do! 🤣 I don't what to be a busybody know-it-all. I love your content, narration and final production. Maybe just tighten it up a bit?
@LamboPhoto2 жыл бұрын
@@MainlightDrone So, no humour and make it shorter? The humour I can do. Not sure how I can make it significantly shorter. Tom Scott's 5-minute vids a full of punchy facts, cut scenes. Mine are full of flythroughs, animations, LiDAR maps, reference photos ... plus then the drone, vlog, b-roll. And I am not the fastest, most articulate speaker (unlike Tom Scott). Filming this vid took over a month, editing took a good 4 days. I would be hard pressed to tell 'the story' - with the visuals - in 5 minutes. I guess the only way would be to chop some content 🤷♂ I don't monitor analytics, maybe I should ... but maybe I best not 🙈 Thanks for the feedback, Christian, as always, appreciated 👍

Great video again. I liked the etymology of the name, after all, most people don't spare it a thought but this was built thousands of years before the Biblical notion of a devil came to our shores. Any devilish resonance is simply our projection upon it. This kind of thing happens all the time with old names in Ireland, An Daingean becomes 'Dingle' and Corcaigh becomes 'Cork'.
@LamboPhoto Жыл бұрын
Great point! And very true about the Devil. This structure predates all of that. Thank you for watching and for the great comment 👍

Much appreciated, Jim! You're too kind. The last 2 vids took about 12 visits to the place. A lot of times I was rained off.
