a nice tip for people that are going to do fetchers rest vualts, you can park you boat in the north west top of the island right beside the mountain and you ship can not take hits from the vulcano and it is pretty safe from other pirates!

Loving this series so much, and my hunch was correct, the other night I was single handing my brig Blood Bargains in the Roar and was just sitting at an island finishing up a souls quest, when a reaper galleon rolled up. I fired off a white flare for the commendation and one of them replied that they wouldn't attack me, right as his friends opened up with a full broadside of chains, scatter shot, and cannon balls. I just stood on the deck dancing as they ripped my ship apart and one of them even boarded me to sword lunge me off the deck. It's no big deal, I told them to have a nice day and enjoy my three skulls I had on board worth about 5,000 gold total. I didn't even have supplies to replace the cannon balls they fired at me, so total lose on their end. I'm not a fan of PVP anymore so I just don't fight back, but it would be nice to be able to get to a point in the game where I can legitimately offer trade with other crews, as my friend and I often have tons of resources to offer every time we sail together.

I have a little trick for you: You can see if you are in the range of an erupting volcano by looking at the Sky. If you are in range, youll see small particles of ash falling for the duration of the eruptopn. By using this you can avoid sailing too far away while the volcano is active.

Lol I mentioned this trick in episode 1 ;) Reason I sailed further out in this episode is because i didn't want to have my ship sitting out in the open since I was near the western edge of the Roar, I went by the rocks to keep myself hidden from other players.

You can do a veil in the roar, sudds and shipwreck graveyards do spawn there as well as two possible locations for the veil fortresses

I had a dream after watching this episode that I was caught in a fleet battle in the Roar, multiple sloops, brigs, and one galleon in the mix; and was trying to raise mast to escape; and then in the middle of it you tried to board me. I shot you off with a blunderbuss just as my crewmate raised sail and we escaped. Then in the dream I was watching "Roarlock" all excited to see if I ended up in the episode and indeed I see my ship, I see you're POV doing a board, and my pirate's face as I blunder you off. 😂 The real moral of this story is, don't watch Roarlock roght before bed. Or do, you're life.

To stay hidden even longer you can wait to put up your emissary until after you finish the vaults. Park your ship, rowboat to the vault with the keys, do the vaults, and put all the loot on the rowboat. Go get your ship, put up emissary flag, and then go back to pick up your rowboat. When you attach to ship it should put you to Level 5 emissary value (and might kick you / have to rejoin session) and then you can go sell - makes it so you're not a target while you're doing the vaults.

Bringing OSRS-style region locks to Sea of Thieves was a corking idea. Devil's Roar is almost certainly going to be the trickiest, but it would be interesting to see if any other content creators follow suit in other regions of the sea.

Honestly my favorite part of the map is the devils roar, so watching this is not as insane as it may be to others, my mostly favorite thing about it is that noone ever goes in it! You can stack vaults for days and no one will ever show up.

Theory about emissary gold bonuses from last episode; I think the bonus is applied by the NPC you're selling to, not the item. So it'll only apply for NPCs that belong to the specific trading company you're running the flag for, or the Sovereigns. If you run as a player guild emissary, you can get bonuses for fish sold to the Sovereigns but not to the Hunter's Call. I think it would match what you've seen... This might mean that Merchant trade routes are better off rejected if you're picking up from an outpost in the hopes that the delivery goes to an outpost instead.

A few people floated this theory in the episode 5 comments, but I can confirm it's not correct. You can see at a few points in ep 5 that the other 2 shopkeepers and the Hunter's Call rep at Brian's Bazaar all properly gave the emissary bonus, so NPC affiliation is not a factor. But since cargo has always received emissary bonus from all NPCs and these exclusions only started recently (and seem to vary between sessions and players), I'd say that all points to it being an unintended bug. As for fish, Sovereigns apply guild emissary bonus to everything you can turn into them, but since there is no Hunter's Call emissary (until Season 15!), the reps at Seaposts can't give emissary bonus at all, so the discrepancy you described is normal.
