I really like how the idea of "I can scream but it won't help" runs throughout the song. You expect the rough vocals, but they are kept in the background. It brings over so much supressed frustration and it's giving me chills.

@@brandonthornsbury3672 What if I told you that for some people, it's only logical that they're having an overdose of this chemical. For them, taking meds to suppress it is only lying about the real circumstances. I know there are tons of people that have those circumstances, some of them seemingly still seeing the bright side of things (and idk how but I'm also not in their shoes), and others seemingly don't and they're just existing and not living, and I think the only reason those people are holding on is that they don't want to be an even bigger burden to close people (assuming they have any), if they off'd themselves. So it's not only a chemical for many people, and the song actually doesn't necessarily disagree. They could be just saying that to themselves to make it seem better when in reality there are tons of reasons that justify having the chemical. Not to take anything away from the experience people have who are suffering even though everything else seems to be fine for them.

Can you explain your interpretation please
@cadebrown2092
@cadebrown2092 Жыл бұрын
@O A I interpret it from a lived experience. Depression can make you think about death or your own death a lot. So it can be comforting when those who try to encourage you or try to make you see past your mistakes/regret reach out from a different perspective. The part where he says, "There's still times I want to break everything I've ever made" implies that even though we get better with counseling/medication, we still have our moments when we just get low and hate ourselves or deal with shame. You hit a point mentally speaking where you don't care about any accomplishment you've done, all you can think about is what you aren't. You don't care about yourself, so you don't care about anything you've ever created. I'm sure I butchered it, but that's how I relate/interpret the lyrics.

Such a beautiful song. When I first heard it, it was live at a show. I wanted to cry because I knew exactly what they were talking about, it’s exactly how I used to be. If you are suffering from depression, please know you are not alone. You are loved. If nobody has told you today, you are appreciated, and your existence in this world means more than you know, one day you will see that. Much love.❤

Such a haunting tune. For me, it describes perfectly dealing with depression and addiction. Waking up each day to a meaningless life just to repeat the same things over and over and feel like shit every day. I love that more artists are talking about this in their music. I listen to a lot of metalcore and similar stuff, and when I hear my idols singing about going through the same stuff, it's comforting in a weird way.

Its comforting because it lets you know that you aren't alone. No one is alone. That's what helps with my own problems that I have. I'm not diagnosed or anything, but I know that there is something. Yet, I know that I am no alone, and it helps because it lets me know that if others have gotten past this, then so can I. I tell myself everyday "Don't, Stop, Moving" even if it hurts to say cause I know that one day everything is going to be ok and that the sad days never cover up the great ones.

Infelizmente não tem publico o bastante para dar lucro quando eles vierem num show solo, é muito arriscado financeiramente para um produtor musical traze-los. A chance deles virem é em algum festival, porém poucos são os festivais BR que trazem bandas internacionais "underground". Tipo, Rock In Rio nunca contrataria eles. Talvez um Lollapalooza ou um SWU/Monster Of Rock, poderia trazer para tocar num palco secundário, mas mesmo assim seria difícil.

Look at us here, damn near close to 20 years later. Still connecting through music. We all live vicariously through these lyrics and sometimes its the only thing that helped us make it through that one shitty day so many years ago, i know I'm happy to be around to listen to this entire album and everyone else should be to❣️

Damn. "There's still times I want to break everything I've ever made, but I've come a long way since back then" got me. Even after making a ton of progress sometimes I feel like I haven't and want to just throw it away. The song felt relatable but that line hit close to home.

Tdwp was my first metal show when I was 12 and I just took my step daughter who is twelve to see them for her first metal show and it was so great to see that kind of excitement from a different perspective. She sang every word of this song and mike looked at her with the biggest smile. She met Gideon and they too were stoked to see someone so young and excited in metal. Thank you guys for making such an impact.

@@robertocahuevos23 their first album was fun, I'd say maybe even a bit more vicious than tdwp's first album, it sounded like a rabid rat trying to escape a metal box clawing at the inside turning itself bloody, the second album was alright too, the third had a few good songs but their third and most critically acclaimed album sepiternal was garbage, Oli couldn't sing or scream it sounded like garbage. TDWP was good all the way up to deathrone where Mike flagged a bit, the next album was a masterpiece but again Mike wasn't good anymore and let that masterpiece down, after that Mike was so bad the rest of the band couldn't make up for it. Asking Alexandria was good for their first two albums but past that were garbage, their most popular songs were also their worst and their videos were cringe
