The 2022 FTX Crypto Cup sees Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Levon Aronian, Anish Giri, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Liem Le, Hans Niemann and Praggnanandhaa gather in the Eden Roc Miami Beach Hotel in Miami, Florida for the 2nd Major on the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. $210,000 and a $100,000 Bitcoin bonus is at stake in the 7-round all-play-all tournament. Each match consists of 4 rapid games on the chess24 Playzone, with the winner earning $7,500 (3 points). If the match is tied there's a blitz tiebreak, with 2 blitz games followed, if needed, by a single Armageddon game. The winner earns $5,000 (2 points) and the loser $2,500 (1).
For each rapid game the players have 15 minutes for all their moves, with a 10-second increment after each move. For blitz games it's 5 minutes and a 3-second increment, while for the Armageddon game White has 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: chess24.com/tour

That's one of reason why I prefer to watch Chess than others sports except Formula 1, in Chess, it was not better before ... We live a golden era with old generation (Carlsen, Nakamura, Nepo ...) and new generation (Firouzja, GUkesh, Pragg, Abdussatarov, SIndarov, Dubov ...). Except F1with Verstappen, Leclerc, Russell, Norris ... The others sports live a poor era ...

Cleary why Pragg lost this game is because somewhere around 4:42 Alireza started playing from both sides of the board. This should be illegal.

Love that agad puts such focus on pronouncing even the difficult names. The current pronunciation of Praggu is quite good! :D Tips if you wish to better it a little more: south Asian (and Japanese) names do not have a syllable you stress. Yes, the first ‘na’ is different (rhymes with far) from the second ‘na’ (sounds like nun), but the stress/loudness/tempo on all syllables is the same. Cheers!

nxf3 gxf3 and then rd1, attacking the undefended knight. If you move the knight, the rook on e1 falls, and defending the knight with rc3 puts you in zugswang. So the best option would be to sacrifice the knight for the pawn, but then ur a piece down and lose anyways.

*The best way to play Pragg is to attack and counterattack him. Attack at any chance you get and counterattack rather than just defend.* I've noticed that Pragg constantly plays an attacking game and often his much older opponents can't stomach his guts and soon find themselves defending and defending. The problem with that is that when you're defending, you're not attacking. Had Firouzja played a defensive game here, he would've been a goner. Pragg just knows how to keep throwing such good and precise attacks that leave his opponents no room to ever really get the chance to fully mobilise their defences. Playing a defensive game against Pragg is very much akin to following Magnus into an endgame. To play Pragg, the big guys must stay offensive, Pragg is still young and isn't as patient and risk averse as the old dogs. However, since Pragg is still young, it's only a matter of time before his defences catches up to his offences. If that happens, then he'd be one mean fellow on the board who leaves a trail of mutilated dead bodies everywhere he goes.

@@bjoernogthomas This is an opinion we respect, but as an example in this video Converting -10 Into a Win you can only understand by watching the BAR and how it oscillates between victory and defeat. For these reasons we insist on showing the BAR, believe me it helps a lot to understand the wonderful analysis by Aqa, and brings you closer to the critical moments in the match

Agad has mentioned that who of the 2 (White or Black) he puts in the thumbnail is completely random, and thus not correlated to who wins or loses. Any appearance to the contrary is just your brain keeping the instances that fit its theory and disregarding the instances that don't.
