It's because the swarms can mess up your parry with higher ping, meaning you'd be stuck blocking and not getting armor back.

It isn’t too easy or wasnt rather. Fencing did not have to basically be removed. It’s absolutely useless now. Broke as fuck. The fencing have the same parry stats and such now as balanced. Balanced does more dmg so why would you ever do fencing now.

@@alpha6games751 this is a known bug. The perfect parry window on fencing is 0.17 seconds shorter than it should be and they are in the process of fixing it. Even so, fencing is for 1v1 dueling, blocking is for dealing with swarms, and balance is what it says on the tin. Parrying still works just fine. It seems like the perfect parry window no longer starts on the first frame of the animation , so spamming parry guarantees that you dont get a perfect, and at best stop the incoming damage. If you want to use a fencing weapon only try to parry when youre only facing 1-2 guys, and when theres more use the (now client side) dodge and get your gun strikes that way. It needed to be changed cause 1 guy could stunlock a whole room of enemies by standing still and spamming 1-2 buttons.

They nerfed fencing twice on patch 4.0 and 5.0, regardless of the bug, reducing the parry window on 4.0 and the stagger radius on 5.0 are nerfs, which is a pattern, so the last guys concerns are valid. My biggest gripe with this is that I played hundreds of hours on this game and "got gud" with the available mechanics enough to solo lethal, for them to just change these mechanics after every patch and expecting me to relearn how to use the new one and "git gud" again is what gets me angry and frustrated. It doesn't help that this mechanic is timing related on an online game with changing ping on every mission, in my case the ping is always high because they don't have servers neear my region

It’s not even muscle memory. They literally turned all the star bonuses off or set to zero for parry on fencing. If you’re using fencing it’s pointless now and you’re handicapping yourself. You have to use balance now no matter what. Unless you wanna play their trash ass block mechanic.

Do you have more details on these? I'm not sure they're necessarily talking about the same thing. On PC, your keyboards and mouse inputs would get disabled (or stopped) mid-animation/action. As if the mouse was unplugged from the USB port.

The console keybinds is not fixed on console cuz it happens there as well so they need to do that to. Every time i try to activate my Y ability sometimes it works on some classes and others like the heavy I need to press it like 3 times before it works.

I love how quick they are on it. The key bind issue was annoying but I’m getting used to using C instead of Q. Also I had this weird mouse bug that didn’t let me turn at all but tabbing out fixed it for the most part. The next day the bug was gone. Only thing I’m waiting for now is the key bind fix because I don’t like using C. It’s still broken for me.

Maybe I'll start running Balanced since Im used to the tighter timing now Block is not that good in my opinion. I cleared Solo Ruthless with Block but Lethal is really Difficult even compared to the bugged fencing.

Its already fixed. This change was always meant to be implemented, since patch 3.0, but they accidentally reverted it in the subsequent patch and didnt fix it till now. Fencing parry pre 5.0 was essentially day 1, which saber had said to be 'unintentional'. Sabers is to be blamed for never properly conveying how fencing parry works, so players naturally assumed the buggy fencing window was intentional.

I literally had no problems before the patch and now 5 minutes in each time a giant horde spawns in my game freezes me and everything in place for like 5-10 seconds and all of a sudden I am completely fucking dead because of the random ass lag spike. This is the internet. You'll always have people overreacting. It wouldn't be right if you didn't. The Devs are pretty good and fast at acknowledging the bugs and fixing them. As far as the cosmetics go if Saber wants to make money release cosmetics for all the classes at the same time. I'm not going to spend money for cosmetics for a class I don't use. At least not on a regular.

The problem is there was a game called eternal crusade, which was good at first, but then they nuffed it. And it never recovered that game is now dead. You cant even load it anymore. Servers are shut down and now we see this happening again with space marine 2 dont kill this game

Block, pause, block, block, pause, block. That’s the whip rhythm. You shouldn’t be able to just flail around with a fencing weapon or be able to block something after it graphically hits. If you complain about that, I can’t feel sorry for you. The damage difference between parry and fencing weapons is now a bit much though. Even with more frequent gun strikes, your time to kill with a fencing weapon is longer in most all circumstances. Once you know which moves produce gun strikes and executions with different enemies, you don’t need parry to survive; especially if incorporating hip fire when you melee (keeping the camera where it needs to be to do this is a sort of end game skill). Skip dodge in melee is just as good as a parry.

Melee damage across the board still needs a buff, it takes way too many hits to kill majoris enemies where your pistol can do it in just a few shots. Also block is still trash. The damage buff is meh at best, it is still much faster to just parry and gun strike in the number off times you perfect block for the 3 stack damage buff. Also, because blocking doesnt interrupt combos from enemies, they are just free to attack you nonstop. As for fencing parry window, i've gotten inconsistent parries where mid animation i just whiff, but had a parry at the last frame of the animation. Same with 360 parries. You can however help this but holding the direction of the incoming attack.

Is it me or is parrying in campaign ass? Replaying campaign on angel of death difficulty and when ever I try to parry an attack Titus doesn't move unless I do a feint attack then press my parry button he actually parries the attack. Made me wonder if this is part of the parry bug.

I don't understand why they made such a convoluted mechanic for block weapons. Just make them able to block the normally unblockable attacks. If they did that it'd give you a real decision to make; fencing with the ability to parry basic attacks and get armour back or block which won't be able to parry basic attacks but will block any attack. But no, 3 stacks of bs and a long ass mechanic that, in the end, is STILL rubbish compared to even the currently bugged fencing weapons

I think the patch notes said that a perfect block does give u 3 stacks straight away. But that's a 'perfect' block. I'm not sure what that is as I main assault with fencing hammer. I assume it's basically parrying but it simply stops the damage and doesn't trigger a gunstrike

@@alexmaafck7139 That's exactly what I thought after using it for a while. It isn't very useful as it is on higher difficulties. Another thing I noticed is that even if you perfect block multiple attacks at the same time, you still only get one stack. I think getting multiple stacks per attacks perfectly blocked would help immensely. I really like the direction they were going with it! I just think it needs a little more finetuning.
