aaah that reminds me of trainwatching at Stockton Tower in the 1980s and 1990s in Stockton, CA. That was always a BUSY place with the ATSF + SP + WP (UP) lines crossing in close proximity.

Good spot for lots of trains but the noise was deafening, flyover has eliminated pretty much all that.
