I have a fan theory for you: Pink Diamond is making off color gems on purpose! First of all, it seems a little suspicious to me that there are quite a few red/orange/pink off colors. (Ex: Padparadscha, Rhodonite, Flourite, and The Rutile Twins) If we are correct in assuming that Pink Diamond is off colored, wouldn't we also be correct in assuming that she wouldn't want to shatter any off color gems she created? I personally think her pearl was off colored, because, if pink pearl is fused into Rhodonite, then she must be pretty small. Rhodonite is definitely small for a fusion. Garnet, even though being a fusion between two fairly small gems, is a pretty large gem. Anyways, I think that, if pink pearl is off colored, she was made off colored on purpose. Pink Diamond, being off color herself, might want to have an army that more identifies with herself. Or at least a unique army. Even though off color gems can be similar to the regular gems, they usually aren't. But, if Pink Diamond is off color, she would probably see off color powers as regular. (This comment is probably not making any sense, but it makes sense in my brain, and I am trying as hard as I can to make it sound like an educated theory, which it really isn't. So I apologize if this comment just sounds like a bunch of words being squished together, and I also apologize for any spelling errors, my keyboard isn't the best.) This would explain why there seem to be quite a bit of off color gems that were under Pink Diamond's court. It would also explain why her pearl was never reassigned to anybody, because no other gem would want to own an off color pearl, which forced her to go into hiding out of fear of being shattered. This theory may also give a reason to her shattering. Pink Diamond's off color gems might have revolted against her because they did not want her to bring more off colored gems into the world. Off color gems are shattered when made by other diamonds and really have no oppurtunities in the world of Steven Universe. (That would explain the sly lyrics "Why would you want to employ her subjects who destroyed her?" -Yellow Diamond, from the song "What's the use of Feeling Blue?") Or, one of the other diamonds could have shattered her because they did not approve of her making off colored gems. If a diamond did shatter her (I think White Diamond might have), it would be very easy for them to cover it up, and blame it on somebody else, like the long time fugitive, Rose Quartz. Anyways, nobody will probably see this comment, and if they do, they probably wont' read it because it is super long. ok I have a theory! haha with no evidence. what if on homeworld they baned fusions because the diamonds can't physical fuse? and so when they use there ships inferring that white dimond has a head ship and pink has a leg ship. that the only way they can fuse but since pink dimond is gone they can't fuse anymore? so that's mabey why they banned fusion. I dunno it's just a random theory!
