Thank you, thank you, thank you! What an excellent diary, superbly written and Richard Briers in the narrator's role with a banquet of guests what more does one need? 5 stars for a few well spent hours of pleasurable listening.........

I come from, and live in north London. Have often gone down Holloway road. I will try and submerge into the world of Cummings and Goings!

This something lovely about listening to a light-hearted story that doesn't really do much but describe normal life :)

It's more than that, though, isn't it? Satirising ordinary life, very amusingly, and celebrating it at the same time.

I've read this book more times than I care to remeber. Always makes me laugh. Lupin's a trial for Mr Pooter.

I heard this the other day on radio 4 but captain mannerin was narrating it and he was brilliant! I wish I could find that recording, it's gold.

Wonderful Stuff. Some things never change. Blaming the Hangover on the food and not on the overindulgence of Champagne!

I first read this in the early 1960s, and have read it many times since. This version is splendid, but a shame that it was abridged and not the whole book as it deserved the extra time.

Very enjoyable performances by all the readers. Such a pity, though, that this is not the complete book.

I have the book on my Kindle and it’s very, very funny. It shows us how humerous the Victorians were. When I read it I imaging Richard in his Martin Bryce voice.

Richard Briers..a fine comedic actor whom you can spot in a slew of Brit tv series w a heavy role or two as well. Check him out as the villain on Midsomer Murders.

Great find. Pooter is actually a lot like Richard Briers' character in Ever Decreasing Circles, and I'm glad they didn't dramatise it too much. But - 'Gou-ing'? Isn't that missing the joke? Gowing should rhyme with showing, not ploughing.

OK, I’ve read the book and absolutely loved it. This is good, but how I wish Richard was reading it and there no other voices reading the other parts.

It's a shame that so much has been edited out from the original, has lost much of its comedy,

The book is great - I’ve just spotted the Ken Russell film and now this! I hated the Arthur Lowe versions on BBC radio, he was just boring. Yes we know the narrator is meant to be boring, but Lowe was naturally boring.

I cannot believe you could describe the Arthur Lowe rendering as 'boring'.He is the PERFECT Pooter.
