I love how Yoo Jae Suk smoothly brought in things about the Mongdol sisters in this section. He highlighted the fact that Ji Hyo was actually self-conscious that she wasn't talking a lot in the show because she often hesitated and was apologetic about it. Following that, he smoothly shifted attention to other conversations he had with Ji Hyo, followed by the funny remark made by So Min about Jong Kook. I have watched most of the Running Man episodes and I saw very drastic changes in Ji Hyo and I must say I really missed the younger Ji Hyo. However, many things have changed. The nature of the show has changed from a physical game show towards a 'talking' and eating show, some members (e.g. Gary, Kwang Soo) are gone, new members came, existing members are aging and experiencing health issues. All these changes made Ji Hyo much quieter as compared to the past. She seemed more tired than before since talking was never her forte. I do suspect that Ji Hyo might have faced some really bad criticisms (probably including the incident where she was kicked out of Running Man without her knowing) which caused her to have a lot of self-doubts and decrease in confidence (you can refer to the fortune telling episode last year where she explained why she cut her hair). All in all, I just hope that Running Man can continue to bring more laughter to the audience in their own way, without getting hurt/unhappy.

Well for me she have change character, like Lucky to be unlucky, even she silent, but she unlucky, it could be she have 5 minute screentime for got punishment, 5 episode she unlucky consecutive, then member want talk with her, then she got 10 minute, it up to her, she want change character or not. I don't blame or complain about Jihyo not being active or enthusiastic. Because RM game pattern has changed from physical games to more like talking show where Jihyo doesn't do well. Jihyo has always been good at physical games and we loved her for that. Even years back she spoke less and did well in games, only now ppl are noticing and complaining because now physical games are less and more talking which we are all fine with. Just like other members JSJ who didn't do well in games in starting years but now he is doing well than before and I find him so funny . Haha oppa was so good before but now he is not that good but still I don't blame cuz things have changed.There is reason SM was added to the show and she is doing her job well. SM who is good at talking, being funny,games, and more things where Jihyo lacks and Jihyo is good at things where Somin lacks, so there is balance. So stop complaining about Jihyo. TBH I had always pictured Ji Hyo as the only female in RM and she had been doing a fantastic job in her ace role until the show changed its concept. When SM came I couldn’t accept it at first. I refused to acknowledge SM as a member. It was only a couple of years later then I started to slowly realise that SM had a role to play too in RM and she did work very hard as well. Now I finally able to see SM as a key member in RM. But to me, Ji Hyo will always be the one who stole my heart in RM. People complained that she is boring and doesn’t talk a lot and contribute to RM but to me, that is who she is. She’s not fake and she can’t be pretentious. That’s what I ❤ her so much. I think only Ji Hyo fans who watched RM from the start understand what I mean.

when somin joined running man, we saw how different she and jihyo was. jihyo's strength is in physical games/activities, and somin's strength is on the talk or skit activities. we know that when somin plays a physical game, she would most likely end up doing slapstick comedy, thus it could be both strength---she makes us laugh because of her clumsiness---- or weakness---for herself or team members as she couldn't win the game. on the other hand, as rm lessened their physical games, it's inevitable that jihyo, who's not as vocal and outgoing as the other members will have a hard time joining their tikitaka. but hearing jaeseok's story about jihyo's hesitation to voice our her comment, hence the missed timing, i think it just proves that she is having an internal debate if her ment is funny enough to be aired (not that it's not funny but they usually edit it if it isn't funny or big). also, i do understand why some of her fans wants her to drop the show, but i think rm holds a special place in her heart because this is the only place where she could be herself and have fun with the family she had for the past almost 13 years. that's why despite that controversy of the pd team wanting to kick her out before, she still came back. i think it's not only because of her relationship with the members, but she's also considerate of her fans. she wants her fans to enjoy seeing her fun, chill, and ace side. i hope we won't lose another member because he/she thinks that he/she is a burden to the members and the show, because as far as i can remember kwang soo left for this reason. he thinks that his injury, causing him to do limited activities, affects the activities that the members could do to make the show fun. these days, hyung in pd is doing great in making more family-centric episodes, but still considering the fun element. the next episode is exciting! i guess mongdol will do a joint stage together and dance to ive's love dive in the #RUNNINGMANinMANILA fanmeeting??? i'm excited! It’s not just because of Gary and KwangSoo. The members were younger , energetic, motivated. The games had better planning and concepts. That’s why it’s so different now; it’s hard to keep up the same motivation when you’ve been doing it for 13 years. And I don’t blame them, countless things have happened in my life in the last 13 years that completely changed me. So I don’t expect the show to be constant, it has to change to adapt. If you remember, RM was going through a slump from 2015 to early 2017 and it’s mostly because of my earlier reasons.

Talking was and is not Jihyo forte. Since years ago people critisize her about this but imo, she is really REALLY good with physical games. But after JK JH sudden removal, I think she got this severe issue where she don't want to be in the spotlight anymore. Look at that era, she always got the least screentime. But I realize after (I think) Bopil PD in charge, she become more and more active, try to engage things, if you realize she also try to butt in several convo but like hold herself because her own hesitation. She become more cheerful. She try her best 😭 Now she looks comfortable with this kind of format and still try her best. Look even her style, she also try to change her usual style 😭 This small little things is what we SJH fans keep looking and cheer her for her small steady step.
