I just wanted to point out that the MLS that existed in the beginning was filled with people/investors/owners etc that lost, I dunno hundreds of millions of dollars if not more. The league could’ve easily folded many times. But professional athletes regardless of sport always talk about two things. Timing and opportunity. Cause you rarely get a second chance. When the MLS was restructured it was led by businessmen, not billionaire owners who had no idea how to structurally redesign the league and making it profitable. The MLS was designed from a business point of view instead of what they put out the first time which was a experiment in a sport that people hadn’t yet accepted. Without going into detail when we saw the MLS as a completely different league than what it had been a lot of things fell into place. People in the U.S were now watching the World Cup and following the players who were in Europe. An insane amount of money was put into the USSF. For the first time it had money to bring in coaches with youth training facilities. I could go on and on but it took a lot of savvy businessmen with the correct business model which for the first time attracted notable coaches and players.They could now grow, mature and coach the youth, the home grown talent. To many things to address, and for a lack of better words, things fell into place at the right time. And what we have now is the MLS which is starting to catch up with Liga MX. And it will become a much more lucrative, talented league which in a decade or two will be able to be mentioned in the same sentence as La Liga, Premier League, Serie A etc... Were now seeing quality European players who aren’t past their prime seriously considering making a jump over the pond “as they say” to the MLS. The same way the premier league had this influx of mostly Arab billionaires buying up teams and spending serious cash on signing players building stadiums etc will happen here in the US. When that happens we’ll see the best players in the world playing in the MLS. It’s not if but when. I say give it 15 years, 20 max. Which brings me to my point. This Canadian professional soccer league will only see success if it merges with the MLS. Let’s be honest, we’ve recently have started to see young talented basketball players attending and playing for NCAA schools/programs. B-ball is blowing up and for the past 5-10 years now the top 1,2,3 picks in the NBA draft have been Canadian. Bennett, Wiggins, Stauskas, Ennis, Dillon Brooks, Cory Joseph man the list goes on and on.The very best outcome for the Canadian Professional League is to merge entirely and completely to the MLS. We’ve witnessed what happened in Toronto 2017. And reaching the final 3 times, how the city responded was unforgettable for a soccer head. You’ll get left behind if all you focus on is the here and now. Wise men see what can happen. I’m not wise but I understand soccer and I understand how powerful the MLS can become with a Canadian Merger and “Relegation and Promotion.” Lol that’s a topic for another day. William Akio Anytime my amigo. I was born in Guadalajara Mexico so I grew up eat, drink, sleep SOCCER. It’s different down there. Everyone growing up thought they were gonna become pros. Soccer is a way of life down there, I guess just like any European, South American or African countries. Life revolves around soccer. 24/7 it’s all me and my two older brothers did. Both my brothers were signed in high school. My oldest bro signed his first contract his sophomore year in high school with club ATLAS and my other bro signed his senior year with CHIVAS, Chivas is what the Lakers or Celtics are basketball. Anyways both had career ending knee injuries and sadly never got to play on the First teams more than a few times. They played on the youth teams and quickly moved up to the reserves of the two teams. Soccer is pumped in our blood before we were born lol... I really enjoyed listening to you and your friend. It must be hard putting together videos which flow easily to the listener. One thing that stuck out to me was how you guys mentioned the difference that there is at the top level in regards to the pace of play, things happen much faster and many many ballers have been technically gifted but to slow to make the jump professionally. When I played back in the day I was a Goalie and it was a whole different ball game when your on the field with professional players making millions. At that level being a goalie it becomes more mental than physical. Having to anticipate what you see coming your way or even trying to see things before they developed. Man I loved playing with good, great amazing players. That was back then, nowadays I’m just fine playing some Fifa 20 and counting down the days for Qatar. This World Cup is going to be amazing. I just have a strong feeling that Belgium, if the players are healthy and can stay healthy, I really do believe they have what it takes to go toe to toe with anyone.

The Canadian premier league switch to a single League format and they have playoffs now so whoever finishes first in the table automatically qualifies to the final and whoever finishes third and second have to do a playoff match to qualified to the final
