Great explanation Joe. I think you need an Amazon Store🤔 You’re simply experiencing what farmers go through selling hay in small quantities. Some people have a hard time comprehending Supply & Demand. They had no idea their precious pony would need to eat All Winter Long! And these are people who have had horses for years😬🤪 It’s all about planning ahead. Keep Teach’n & Preach’n Joe! Bless’ns to ya, Tedd

I totally understand the putting out 4 videos a week thing I couldn't imagine I also feel like theirs only so much content that can be put out until it feels repetitive and your watching the same thing but then again I am one of those guys who watch just about every single video you put out since I've subscribed so thank you for all the hard work you do to entertain us, I just dont have the time hardly with my full time job then it gets dark at 430 that leaves me the weekend

Great video joe! Don’t stop the Wednesday videos, love getting to watch 3 videos a week. I have mentioned lots of video ideas that you’ve never covered before. Oak is honestly the only wood that takes a year to dry because of the how tight the grain is. Locust, cherry, elm, maple, etc can be dry in as little as 8 months if you just stack it and leave it. In summer I tarp my firewood completely and gets hot as hell under the tarps and acts like a kiln! Big myth that wood don’t dry under tarps. I got shipping pallets I stack on so air is always able to escape and move.
@JoesFirewoodVideosII3 жыл бұрын
Yes oak does take forever to season and the others that you mentioned dry fairly quickly.

@@JoesFirewoodVideosII he only has actually a few 3-5 trees that he wants gone and none are ash and 3 of them are dangerously close to his house which I don't have the ability or insurance to confidently drop. He actually has no dead trees on the ground that I can cut. Anything I can/could cut there I havto drop. And ill havto pull them with the truck while making back cut so I can't do those trees solo. All the trees there to drop are within striking distance of buildings. Today I cut the safest one that was furthest from his garage. Precarious for the inexperienced logger such as myself. Non the less, I appreciate this and any potential opportunities at good free wood. Thank you

If I were you I would split ash into the Polar Trailer and take right to your self serve racks and only stack the semi seasoned or green wood that you come across on your pallets.

Awesome video Joe, I really appreciate explaining the difference so that customers can understand what and when to buy stuff. Going to only two videos a week is fine by me, trying to create content when you are a firewood business owner is pretty hard because you do the same thing every day.

Joe what’s your thoughts on just letting it pile up like in Bay 1 so you don’t have to stack it. Will it season good in a pile? What’s your experience on that? A lot of time goes to stacking it.
@JoesFirewoodVideosII3 жыл бұрын
As I mentioned in the video everything going into Bay #1 is ready to burn so no seasoning is required

Hey Joe. Great video. I just got a big load of freshly cut oak delivered. I have to get it cut up amd split so it can season. Do you think it will be ready to go by next fall? Got some real big pieces. Gonna be a lot of work, but it was all free. So I'm not complaining. I posted a video of when the guy came and delivered it. Check it out if you have time.
@JoesFirewoodVideosII3 жыл бұрын
Only if it’s stored properly - stacked in single row, facing south, under an overhang for 6-8 months with a full summer then it should be ready.
@goingoutdoorswithmatt79623 жыл бұрын
@@JoesFirewoodVideosII Thank you for getting back to me Joe. I appreciate it. Unfortunately I dont have an overhang. I am stacking it on pallets and covering the top with tarps. I am new to building up a solid inventory to being able to sell. So I really appreciate the feedback.

Seasoned is is ready to burn, if it is not seasoned then it is still green and not ready to burn. I just bought a cord of supposedly seasoned wood (logs were cut 18 months ago but just split in the last month) and still green in the middle and is not ready to burn still, therefore is not fully seasoned and I will let it finish seasoning until next winter to finish drying out. It is either fresh cut wood or in the process of seasoning, or completely seasoned and ready to burn.
@JoesFirewoodVideosII3 жыл бұрын
Obviously you have no clue about firewood 🪵 and bought what you thought was seasoned wood from some crack/meth head who sold you green wood in an attempt to save a dollar. Sorry dude but standing dead/ready to burn can be found in the forest.

Everything you do and say concerning firewood seems mostly just rationalization for your own benefit after watching Chris's channel In The Woodyard. What you say about RTB and seasoned is true but I've seen you throw some absolute crap into the back of your truck and go deliver it. Your quality control from load to load or even parts of each load is absolutely not consistent with RTB firewood and I point again to Chris; each and every stick that leaves his woodyard is consistent to seasoned and/or RTB firewood and he doesn't make a single excuse. It looks like your quality and supply have increased nicely since Darin came onboard so that's a good thing but as soon as your supply dwindles again you'll probably go right back to the same QC issues.
@JoesFirewoodVideosII3 жыл бұрын
Digby sometimes the customer has to take the driest wood that I have available because of their lack of planning by not ordering their firewood a year or two ahead and providing an adequate area dry/season the wood. Chris has acres and acres of open fields to season his wood 🪵, we live in the middle of the woods and it ain’t getting clear cut.

So seasoned firewood means that it’s not ready to burn?? Thanks for this video I gotta change the title to my ad. All the wood I have is ready to burn. But I had seasoned firewood for sale as the title!
@JoesFirewoodVideosII3 жыл бұрын
Seasoned firewood means that it sat for a period of time until it was dry enough to burn.
@RiverValleyAcres3 жыл бұрын
@@JoesFirewoodVideosII ok that’s what I thought. I was confused when I seen this. So seasoned firewood could still be marketed as ready to burn firewood? I have 120 acres that the Amish logged out a year ago. And I’m cutting the tree tops and any dead standing trees I find along the way. So it’s all ready to burn as soon as it’s cut. I just don’t know what would be the better option to market it as. Seasoned or ready to burn?

I’m sure you’ve heard of “get what you pay for” Not everyone wants to pay premium prices for premium wood. Same thing applies to most any consumer good, that’s why when you go to a grocery store there’s a variety of options within the same type of product.
