I love the simple and clear rules for magic in this show. Basically, magic is like energy: it can be stored, generated, transmitted, used, etc. I just finished the 2nd season and I can't wait for whatever comes next (though I wasn't a big fan of the "Boy from the West" OVAs).

A slight correction, Sleigh Beggies aren't granted the sight, those are two different traits in the series. Many sleigh beggies suffer from attracting fae (the term that the Seven Seas manga uses), but not being able to see them, receiving a lot of luck and misfortune from the fae. Chise in that regard is extremely lucky, due to her being the MC. Also, the manga that is adapted for season 2 also makes it clear that Sorcerers/Alchemist do generate magic, but aren't able to use with the fae as most of them can't see them. (Also, not every human can generate magic, as there is a specific fictional organ for it.) Mages generally absorb it and Chise as a Sleigh Beggy has indeed both. I do like how in the Manga the difference is explained by Elias of all people is by comparing it to computers and security. Magic is the program locked behind a password, mages are born with this pass-word, while Sorcerers brute force it through something equivalent to hacking.

The first translation I read used the term mage for chise and elias, but now I can't that version and only find the one that uses sorcerer to describe the two.

Kinda curious why you thought of making this video? To me, at least! It seemed to explain it well in the anime.

It is more that it has been 5 years since the first season aired and people would have forgotten the difference, unless they had rewatched the first season prior to watching the second.
