Good video brother… not sure how far north you are, but we’re coming to Ransomville this year and have a limited schedule in western PA… primarily big block but do give small blocks weight brakes… love to have you join us! BRP modified Tour!!!

Thanks Mr. Mitchell for showing us the two cars and how they are different. I would bet that they are equal when it comes down to how much fun you have racing them. Do they use the same transmission in both cars? I am on the west coast so never get to see them race in person. Great video and best of luck to you the rest of the season.

Yes they are the same style. Mine aee made by BERT transmission. There is an older generation with shifter on the trans. The newer style has a shifter up near my right arm that is easier to reach.

Our 358 spec we are allowed to weigh 2275 on gas 2350 on methanol. We run new Egypt Speedway in NJ mostly. #112 Cale Ross. We also run sail panels

Are all these various dirt modified and sportsman cars straight front axle designs? I’ve always taken for granted that they were, but not sure. Good overview of the major differences between the two classes! It’s Friday night as I write this, so I’m sure you’re racing, so good luck and thanks for the video!

We rained out at Mohawk. We are prepping for a Sat and Sun show at Cornwall Motor Speedway in Cornwall Ontario Canada. These cars are straight front axels.

It never stops changing, now the mods are going coil-over and losing the torsion bars.

Cool video and awesome cars. Looks like a SBF distributor in the Ls powered car? I just had to ask.
@darrylmitchellracing3 жыл бұрын
Its similar. A coil type distributor. I guess the LS was designed by Ford and and sold off.

@@darrylmitchellracing I’ve always been skeptical about that rumor Ls being designed off of the SBF until I watch a KZbin video where a shop put Ls cylinder heads on a 351-W and it wasn’t complicated at all. Stock bottom end Windsor with 328 5.3 castings made 1,000hp. I’ve always wanted to get into B-Mod class but the rules are favored towards the Chevy guys. No gasket matching on fords, only steel roller tip rocker arms, can only run World Products 180-200 cc cylinder heads, no 302 8.2 deck engines. The Windsor has a 3” main journal and a 2.311 rod journal vs 350 Chevy which has a 2.450 inch main journal and a 2.100 rod journal. The Chevy is going to turn higher RPMS faster vs the ford. The 302 has a little bit smaller crack journal size compared to the 350 but less C.I. Because of the stroke. The rules absolutely state “No 302 and no 351 Cleveland engines “ I think it’s boring watching Chevy vs Chevy because of the rules. I drag race a mustang at my local drag strip and it’s 60% Chevy and 40% Ford. Makes for great racing.

Same way I feel about DIRTcar. I wish there were more options than just GM. My cousin always had a Ford in his NE Dirt Pro-stock until they went to crates. Then he quit lol.

Thanks for the explanation. I really enjoy the behind the scenes content. Is that a Gord Downie quote on either side of the engine?
@darrylmitchellracing3 жыл бұрын
I dont know if it his quote. It was on the panels when I got them. Its a good saying for racing. Thanks for watching.

One thing u forgot and I was wondering is how much is a new w16 vs new 602
@darrylmitchellracing3 жыл бұрын
your right buddy. w16 is $17500 complete carb to exhauhst. complete crate from carb to exhaust is between 8700-10500. I scored my w-16 for 9k from a guy who won it in a raffle.

I see Gord Downie on the 358 car 👍👍👍

And Darryl if you can afford to run a built motor for 358 then thats the way to go the extra weight doesnt matter when it comes down to it... your truly at a disadvantage running a spec competing against guys with built motors. Running one class would free you up so that you can put everything into one car so you wouldnt be at a disadvantage also if your going to be running around syracuse and new york with those guys you really need a built motor
@pressureworks3 жыл бұрын
You are better off running Aluminum Wheels. Why ?? Less Rotating Weight. You can get all the wheels you need as Used !! Get non-beadlocks for the Left Side.
