The Dinoking Transformers Legacy Evolution Theory!

We go deep into some new statements from Hasbro Transformers Designer Evan Brooks and what he mentioned about the development of Transformers Legacy Evolution Core Class Slug and Sludge and how Dinoking is pretty much a given at this point for the future combiner Volcanicus repaint.

I can see Hasbro doing a Generations Selects Dinoking set. People really didn't like the combiner Dinobots, but as an exclusive type character, I can see them going that route.

I've been wanting them to do Dinoking and/or Monstructor since Combiner Wars. And honestly I think a core class set is perfect since the G1 versions were physically one of the smallest sets. Really hope this pans out Proto. I'll definitely buy it three times if they do those repaints, shells or not.

For repaints I don’t think we’ll see shattered glass due to the line ending with soundwave so far, monstructor might be better as a retool so you could differentiate the 2 groups. There’s G2 which I could see in generations selects as a 6 pack but Dinoking depending on the 6th member would be possible and great to see.

I think they'll do a monstructor first after the dinobots then later a dinoking cause you don't really want to do a dino combiner right after you do the dinobots.

I think there's one more small piece of evidence here that was missed. Legacy has been redoing pretender characters lately, and they've been mixing the shells with the robot modes of those characters. Well, Dinoking had shells too but in alt mode instead of bot mode. The original Dinoking wasn't made of dinosaurs, it was made of monsters with dinosaur pretender shells. Keeping with the style Legacy has already shown for their pretenders, the Dinoking crew would have their monster modes replaced with dinosaurs similar to the dinobots. And that makes this repaint/retool make a whole lot more sense.

I have high hopes Skar will be our ankylosaurus. Aside from this, I'm also hoping in the future, some Energon Powerlinx figures in core class, as pretools for Landcross. I've also talked about it on Twitter, just in case. (I'm going to RT the whole Legacy Landcross thread to Protoman, to give light to the idea.)

I like the direction that Hasbro is going with the Combiners. Do Core Class Combiners for the retail marker, while still doing the MP-G line for Transformers collectors. We'll probably see Hasbro do this for a Core Class Devasator and Core Class Predaking. All of those Mini collectable items have sold well to where there's a Mini Unicron line now. Hasbro is even doing a smaller scale Mr. Potato line called Potato Head Tots. Going small, or real small--as Steve Martin would say--is a returning trend in the toy industry.

It’s gonna happen somehow. There’s no other reason that they would make Sla/ug the top half of the torso (or have six members) if they weren’t going to do this. Maybe it will be a Selects, a store exclusive or next year’s Pulsecon exclusive, but it will happen.

I think I would probably prefer to get new combiners in that smaller 1 Deluxe 4 Core class type of toy idea. Really think the it combiners even make it into cartoons again, I would like them in that style.

The only thing is that the inner robots alt modes didn't really look like dinosaurs. Yokuryu comes the closest and that's stretching it. So, this will be interesting/weird to see how it turns out if this happens.

Iguanus and Bomb Burst have the shells as their robot modes, so nothing should stop the Dinosaur Force from having their shells as their alt-modes.

I'm a scale nut, so I'm not super enthused for a core Volcanicus. Nor a core Monstructor, since he's a giant in the comics But core Dinoking? Sure, I can get behind that. I'd PREFER a larger Dinoking, but I don't have the same connection to the characters, so it's an easier sell for me
