One thing I definitely remember from this episode was the ending. Aftet the story was over, Robbie walks past tge crew "working" on the show, who say that episode got "preachy". And Robbie was like, "It sure was!" And then tells the audience not to do drugs, or they will have to keep making episodes like this one. So if you don't want PSA sitcoms, don't do drugs.

No sitcom ages well. Many of the ones still airing are already pretty rancid, and they don't try to force any kind of moral. Which is fine, I don't need Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men trying to teach me life lessons, I am glad for the large part they don't. Also when I Love Lucy decided Lucy and Ricky should sleep in different beds they didn't draw attention to it and tell you sexuality is bad. It was ridiculous, but they weren't trying to hammer wholesome 1950s values into your head with a sledge hammer, even if it was there subtly. And yeah, killing off all the characters in a show obviously targeting small children is awesome. I am not being sarcastic. It helped me grow up and accept loss. But at least Dinosaurs had a grimdark ending on purpose. Alf thought they could squeeze out one more season if they ended on a cliff hanger. They couldn't.

Spike is the greatest of all time. Dude was a skirt chasing, gang affiliated, punk who showed he had a heart of gold by helping robby with his girl problems and being an excellent wingman, tries to protect robbie from getting beaten up by getting him into his own gang, then does everything he can to help robby get OUT of gang life, and even turns on his OWN gang to protect him, after a small word slip he immediately tries to direct robby away from drugs and then shows, despite being a womanizer, he still respects a woman's right to say "no" and protects a girl robby is getting too physical with despite her continued denial of his advancements! And THEN not only doesn't kick the ass of his friend, but helps him get off the drugs (in his own way) Spike, you were the character we all might not have deserved, but you were the one we NEEDED
