The Director:
After several years as a drummer in high school rock bands in a small city of the French Alps, it was in Montreal, Canada, that his passion for electronic music truly ignited. Experiencing for the first time clubs and underground parties, he found his calling. Influenced by artists like The Who, Supertramp, The Chemical Brothers or The Alan Parsons Project, he tends to give back to music a "bigger than life" energy, and a feeling of authenticity that he finds is missing in today’s industry.
Mainly inspired by both Chicago House and French Touch, he spent several years digging into old DJ magazines and forgotten forums, seeking to create a fresh approach to music production that captures the process and energy of the late '90s golden era. Combining classic production techniques, vinyl DJ sets, and old camcorder videos, his world wants to reflect the greatness of the pre-Y2K years.
Catching the attention of Uppermost, head of Uppwind Records with a random version of "Fade In" posted on Soundcloud, he got offered an EP release "How To Use A VHS Camera?" in summer 2022 ; & Kookoo Records, little brother of legendary disco label Unidisc, released one of his singles "Fade Out", and an EP in summer 2023. With a dedication to crafting music that breaks the mold, The Director's style allowed him to gain trust by acts such as Ian Pooley, Black Loops, Paul Woolford, Cody Currie ; and venues/festivals such as Picnik Electronik, Centre Phi, Shift Radio, Radio FG & More.

It's hard to find mixes that value Demon's Midnight Funk album (unless is You Are My High). For me, this was the pinnacle of French touch in terms of abandoning the wild sampled loop of Crydamoure (kinda like pre future funk vibe) and actually doing something creative, aesthetic and unique. The same thing happens with Cassius - 1999, Etienne de Crécy - Super Discount, Bob Sinclair - Champs Elysées, Kojak - Crime in the City, Pépé Bradock - Synthèse...
