Rajamouli biggest dream is to do Mahabharata. Now Russo brothers and the Production house wanted to do a film with rajamouli, then budget constraint of which he wanted like 1000cr is looks easy and he can go upto 2000cr which would be biggest spectacle one could watch on Screen and VFX will be greatest of all time. Mahabharata will be Epic in Cinematic Universe all over the world. Then indian History and Indian Cinema would be on Top of The Mountain.

He is doing it slowly, all these films builds to Mahabharat, All started with Magadheera, then Makkhi, Bahubali series and now RRR, he is slowly gaining more experience with increase in Budget, RRR is best when it comes in technical points and Screenplay... He is good actor, but never does a film which will challenge him,he is popular in Telugu family audience that is the reason he does Films which are high on Family drama but I do think SS Rajamouli next film according to rumours is Jungle action adventure set in African backdrop, SS Rajamouli knows how to use actors.... As a telugu guy i can say our tollywood actors are blessed to play his characters. He will say all good things about other actors when he goes to other industries for promotion. But his motherly feeling and his sheer responsibility kinda feeling to bring glory to telugu states is inside.he made it clear during pushpa function by praising aa for bringing credit to 2 states. No surprise his next film is with mahesh. For those who complain that RRR was 'over the top'- that was precisely one of the reasons why it crossed over- film buffs have a term for it- CAMP-and I mean it in a positive sense. People enjoy campiness. There's a cult base for camp across industries. Rajnikanth or Balakrishna or Chuck Norris. Rajnikanth didn't cross over to the Japanese because he had something new to offer in terms of 'reality' or gravity. People love him for what he is in the movies. You think people enjoy these films because they haven't had science classes on gravity in school? There's a large disconnect between the critics and audience in this country. And even among the audience, urbane audience swear by or are beholden to Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson. But camp has a place of its own-one can like all of these and liking Nolan doesn't mean one has to diss directors from here.

Whats missing in the bollywood malsala films are emotional connection with the characters which the telegu films does so well.
