Glad to see you covering some war masterpieces with excruciatingly long runtimes. I know it’s not technically a war movie but I hope to see one on The Great Escape in the near future (on behalf of it being a great movie, and it would be a pretty fun companion piece for whenever you decide to cover Chicken Run with the sequel coming out soon)

I will NEVER understand why Maggott was chosen, or even tolerated considering he was a violent SA'r.
@docdave15 Жыл бұрын
I think maybe it was maybe to show the fallacy in the mission idea and in Reisman. Reisman is a smart guy (smarter than Col. Breed) for sure, but the fact that he thinks keeping Maggot on board is a good idea shows that all humans are fallible.

There are a few mistakes: Jimenez: not counted (should be death 2) but dies off screen Gilpin: not counted; he kills him self for the good of the mission (he's the guy who steps through the roof) Wadislaw: counted (#25) but is the only one that doesn't die Posey (Clint Walker): not counted and is never shown EXPLICITLY dying but dies with Bravos (#92) and it is confirmed in the end
@CulannBurke6 ай бұрын
Posey and Gaplin escape offscreen. It's confirmed on various websites.

@@CulannBurke Considering the movie ends by listing them among the dead, no. And we see Gilpin explode
@CulannBurke6 ай бұрын
@@jakeharmon542 no, we see the tower explode. Gilpin was several feet away and took evasive action.

Also, Posey ducked down when Bravos was killed, so he must have slipped away. There were 3 survivors of the Dirty Dozen. Giplin Posey Wvadislaw

This was one of the most violent movies of the 1960s an MGM movie no less a studio that really did not do that much violent material in the movies in the 1950s and early 60s

Make the Carnage Counts of: X Company Seasons 1-3 (2015-2017) Jojo Rabbit (2019) Devil All The Time (2020) (This one I would count it as WWII, considering the opening scenes)

If Maggot hadn't screw it up, the only casualty could've been Jiminez. And if Trini Lopez hadn't been called by Sinatra, the Dozen could come home intact.
