Huge missed opportunity here. In the book written by Greg, (the guy who played Mark in The Room) he talks about how "on Guerrero Street" wasn't part of his original line, it was a detail he added in the hopes it would get Tommy to stop laughing. Why? Because Tommy had a condo on Guerrero Street in San Francisco at the time, and while they were filming in L.A, Tommy didn't want anyone to know. Greg knew it would upset Tommy, and thus stop him from laughing. It didn't work... It's too bad they didn't implement that into this movie

@@rrsidentfrickhoeIt's actually incredibly difficult to pretend to do something realistically badly if you're very good at it. If a trained singer needs to play a character who's a terrible singer, they usually need to massively overplay how bad the singing is to stop themselves from subconsciously correcting themselves if they go off-key - it's almost impossible to play a bad singer who actually sounds realistically like a bad singer, and not a cat in a blender. It's probably the same with acting - it's very difficult to accurately recreate the performance of a terrible actor who's honestly trying his best if you yourself are a good actor. You'd need to be either an *amazing* actor, a very skilled impressionist or willing to spend dozens of takes nailing the inflections to perfectly recreate Tommy Wiseau's...unique line deliveries.

From what I understand, on every take, Tommy kept laughing before saying “What a story, Mark”. His crew kept telling him that the story wasn’t a laughing matter, but he still didn’t stop. What’s not depicted in the film, however, is that Greg tried to stop Tommy from laughing as much by ad libbing the Guerrero Street part. The reason for this was because Tommy owned a condo there in real life, and he didn’t want his personal information on film (he’s a notoriously private man), so Greg guessed that this might stop him from laughing. The only reason that this take ended up in the final movie was because it was the only one where the audio was usable. 😆

But he has this moment where he literally laughs at the idea of someone being beaten so badly they end up in the hospital.
