I think this man was infested by insults from the corporations, and his mind turned off, his head filled with static, he then went crazy, mutilating animals and a family, he flayed the fathers skin, and possibly brutally injected the children and mother with heavy doses of chemicals, he then went more insane and started mutilating more and more, until he reached his breaking point and killed himself, or died like a dog like the asshole he is, being eaten and flayed, if the explorers were to witness his corpse as the one pounding, it would be a immediate escape and all of them would possibly be shot.
