During the time that I worked at a gate house in a grave yard, I witnessed so many vile aftermaths of criminal damage to headstones, some were racist attacks upon the dead some were opposing religious reasons and then there was the Satanic players who not only destroyed headstones but also would crucify crows to trees upside down minus their heads, there are some extremely evil people who walk amongst us.

When I saw the missing heads/hands, my first thought was that the vandalism might have resulted from some political dispute in the past. In dynastic Egypt, the incoming pharaoh frequently defaced statuary and erased heiroglyphs referring to his predecessor, especially when there was political intrigue involved.

You probably already know this, but I’ve had great success reading old, weathered tombstones using a handheld, cool white LED flashlight. The cool LED light is a narrower wavelength than warmer yellow LED flashlights and makes the edges/indentations of inscriptions look sharper than the warmer ones do. Take care and God bless. Edit: Realized I wasn’t subscribed and I just remedied that problem. 😊

The second ones you looked at appear to have been deliberately cot rather than a casualty of weather, I wonder if this is due to the person it immortalised or their religious position. My Irish history is appalling my British history better, if I saw that on this side of the water I would think it a casualty of the monarchy and its inability to choose a faith and stick to it! Or that it was of someone who was later conceived as undesirable within the community or country. The sadder option is that it has been either vandalised or pillaged to be a centre piece to someone’s garden. A true mystery in deed, and now it’s going to get stuck in my brain like all your other videos, I don’t know wether I should thank you or not lol thank you for showing us once more the history so sadly passed by many and long forgotten xxx

They may have been desecrated by the poor Irish that these English took advantage of. That is not so far-fetched as during the 1500's Henry, VIII sent Cromwell down with thousands of English men to take over more of the Republic. Then in 1602-1604, the Crown paid many of the Scottish to move into Northern Ireland to take those lands away. Just saying ... ♥️☘️🇮🇪 I still liked the video!
