I looked at this with a different perspective. When I was married years ago, every time I went out in public with my ex, women everywhere would flirt with me often. Sometimes they even did it in front of her and this was in the U.S. As soon as I got divorced and was single again, not one woman would even take notice of me. I believe that many women are just competitive and jealous of each other by nature.

You're right. Extremely competitive. They see you with a woman and want to know what you have that this woman is by your side? Also, I think women can tell when you're single just by how we carry ourselves. I swear, when I have a girlfriend and am getting laid on the regular, when I'm out alone, women approach and flirt, however, when I'm single and out alone and not getting laid, it's like I have plague. LOL! Other guys agree with me on this.

It's a common trait. My wife tells me she loves me unconditionally and trusts me totally but also admits she has an insecurity about other women flirting and attempting to come between us. She also tells me that because of the way I treat her both in the home and in public, with typical respect and attention to his wife I am considered high value by other Flipina women. An example happened while shopping in the local market in Lapu-Lapu a vender said to her co worker knowingly in front of my wife such and such your American boy friend is here. I was very concious of how my wife would have felt but being a very reserved lady not wanting to make a scene said nothing. Me on the other hand spoke up and said I'm sorry you must have me mistaken for someone else. I'm Australian and the beautiful woman about to purchase from your store is my Wife and I think you owe her an apology. She became rather embarrassed and replied I'm sorry sir I was just joking. I looked at her sternly she got the message and turned to my wife and said Sorry mam. While walking home my wife discribed that woman as an itchy girl. She said I should not have said anything ,but I said that your my wife and deserve to be treated as such.

It's a special kind of jealousy. It's almost always the fear to loose the foreigner goldmine...

When you stop and think about it, if they're really desirable, they can get that "gold mine" anytime they want. I think what they really want is someone who respects them and won't cheat on them, which seems to be an epidemic among filipino men.
@aliross2720
@aliross2720 11 күн бұрын
True, but to me it also sounds like the type of jealousy you get when dating a pathological narcissist(cluster b personality disorders)..Pathological narcissists are insecure on a fundamental level, where they don't feel safe. They cannot bond(they're only capable of enmeshment) or connect to others, so they never get to know them and cannot trust them, no matter how long it's been. No matter what happens or what you do, they do not feel safe enough to trust you in even basic ways. It can sometimes come out as anger, accusation, avoidance, distance or contempt and is framed in a way that makes it look like you are doing things that make you untrustworthy. After all the years, after all the pain and abuse, manipulation, lies, and any other horrible things they can put people through... you will likely still have more basic trust in the narcissist as a human being than they have ever had in you. Ever. Even the basic trust required to physically exist in the world with other people, they don't have in anybody - including themselves. The world is a battleground, an inherently unsafe place where everyone is not just not an ally, but an enemy, a potential life-threatening attacker. You cannot ever love someone like this enough to prove that you are safe enough for them to trust. It can't happen, because they don't know what safety is. They live in a world where there is no such thing. Some narcissists may become super-aggressive, dominant and even violent in order to deal with that; others may become helpless, vulnerable and lost; and still others may become ultra-controlled, and flat emotionally with very little reaction to anything, but all of these are ways of dealing with the same fundamental problem: they believe the world is unsafe, which influences their orientation to it and their interactions with it enormously. Narcissists have a fear of abandonment. It's nothing to do with the other person, it's about them and it really could be anyone they are in a relationship with because everyone is interchangeable and viewed as objects by the narcissist anyway. That's why they never consider your feelings or anything else about you in all this, you're not even seen as a separate person. Most narcissistic people believe at their core that they are defective and unlovable. Rejection and abandonment represent the ultimate failure of the narcissist. It validates all of their delusional and paranoid beliefs, and therefore it is intolerable. Because of there behaviour because of their illogical fears and paranoia it actually creates situations where people reject and abandon them, because people get tired of being called liars and cheaters and abusers when they are not doing any of those things. They get tired of having to constantly tell another adult that they're on the same side, or being forced to jump hurdle after hurdle to prove they are safe to trust only for this to never actually happen. People give up and move on. Then the narcissist was right all along: no one really cares about anyone else, and especially about them. Everyone is just a manipulative liar.

I think it's getting harder for guys coming to the Philippines. Social media and a high supply of 'easy' foreigners has changed the game; it's not so much in our favor now. My partner and I are 7 years and going strong. This wasn't the case initially, and setting firm boundaries was necessary, especially with spending. If she pushes too hard, you might have to show her the door. Weak guys wont do well with a Filipina. One of the most important boundaries is setting some rules regarding the phone. To be looking at your phone all the time, even when your mate is trying to communicate with you is disrespectful. If you agree to not use the phone in the bedroom, it can greatly enhance your sex life as well. It's a challenge with a Filipina, since most are phone addicted. Another thing, and I know it's a sensitive subject is intimate relations. If you're married to a much younger gal and your equipment is not working, she is essentially a caretaker or maid. Sure, you might have affection for one another, but it not the same. Lastly, there is the matter of kids. Do you REALLY want to take care of children from another man, or just doing it because you feel you don't have other options when it comes to getting a female here? My partner and I have a child together, but early on, I refused to pair with single mothers. This may sound selfish to some, but there are few advantages in it for an expat. If you really WANT more kids, have your own. It will create a much stronger bond between you and your mate. Best of luck gents.

I’ve already been told by my Filipina that jealousy is her number one concern. Every time we go shopping she is always holding my hand. The only time she isn’t is when she’s looking for something “she” needs. Not me. But as women do, they always find an angle to get my attention when they know she’s not aware. Got to admit that women are very clever.😉

In the west we grow up with time issues starting in kindergarten and follow us thru our lives. If you're 5 min early, you're on time, if you're exactly on time you're late by the time you come in, find your seat, sit down and people are looking at you waiting to start. Different culture. We're expected to allow for traffic, transportation issues, weather whatever, leave earlier.

Good to see you two again! Baby Mae I am not a jealous Pinay but then again, I am American-born. Sadly, I could see that jealousy there in the PH. 99% of my female cousins, second cousins, are beautiful, as in I always have a distant relative winning a town beauty contest somewhere haha. I am not one bit jealous, it is a waste of energy. It is a cultural thing for sure.

Hey Paul and Baby Mae! Everything in your video, I experienced with my ex Filipina wife. So insecure and overly jealous, to the point of actually going to my job 3 times, thinking that I was cheating on her!! She never paid anything, and I was always reassuring her, that she was my one and only woman. She got her papers to go back home and see her 4 kids after 10 years!! I truly love her still, but for some reason, she thinks that I'm the devil, arrogant, and a narcissist! Never, have I made her feel that way. The only thing I had a problem with was the Philippine time. Crazy, but I got used to it. I wish to at least meet someone, who wants to be friends first, then if compatible have a lasting relationship. Even if it doesn't become marriage 😊 Thank you both for those quirky pointers, yet very serious to Filipino women. King Luda 😊❤

Paul and Mae, In Thailand it is no different. I have a friend here and his wife is a real B. Paul and Mae. I was still very active until 70 odd. Then then I developed scoliosis of the spine. [ Sex was not cause.] The pain was out of this world. and that slowed me down. I got on to pain medication. That helped with the pain. But caused ED. I still had a healthy interest in sex. And bare in mind that the age gap between my wife and I is much greater than you and Mae. I never lost any interest in sex. Although not as great as before. But still a good healthy feeling and interest. I am now 80 and still going. You and Mae are being very up front on this video. So I thought my little input might help others keep in mind that most of you can still do it. Not like you were at 25.

The time thing is just disrespectful. I know things can go sideways when trying to get somewhere. I was about two hours late to a dinner meeting with a friend. Dinner was at the SM Mall of Asia in manila. We took a trike or two, jeepneys & the train. If something could delay us, it did. The difference is I was in constant communication. Most Filipinos don't understand that concept. The sarcasm definatly will get you in trouble. Ask me how I know. Also there is a big difference in My American English & a Filipina's English. You can say something, that in your own country 99% of people will laugh at.( And the one percent that doesn't laugh won't be mat at you) Here, you going top be pissing some folks off.

In old fashion Jewish law there is are many teachings regarding men/women relationships. Don’t quote me but ask Goldfinger to elaborate but men are to share their life with their woman not plural. If u want to play tennis it’s ok to play tennis with a man but not with another woman. Share as much as u want with another guy but no sharing jokes, book clubs etc with other women. Old old laws will keep ur relationship healthy.

While listening to you I just couldn't wait to her next "Yeah"...hahahaha very cute! Anyway, good point about the age gap. If there is 25 years gap or more and you're still sexually active, you don't think at the consequences of getting too old and making her life miserable. That is as long as she's willing to stay with you up to the grave... While we act like we don't care, just as much they won't care either and withdraw from the scene when things become uncomfortable.

Acute jealousy is a symptom of mental illness such as Personality Disorder and this happens in about 80% of Filipinas to some extent ranging from somewhat bad to total insanity. Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorders often referred to as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can encompass Acute Jealousy when targeted on a partner and who her partner interacts with. The same rules do not apply to themselves and they feel free to do whatever is necessary to line up new parters in case they are abandoned. Acute jealousy can be obsessive and targeted even at a mannequin in a clothes shop that is undressed in front of the woman’s partner or she will get extremely jealous about a female cartoon character in a video game to the point of attacking him with a knife or any sharp object at hand. Any woman he talks to or listens to such as Taylor Swift or Sade will send her into apoplectic hysteria. Hearing them will likely send her into an angry violent episode that can last for days or weeks. Self harm such as cutting arms and beating themselves in the face or banging their head on a wall to getting so drunk and then more drunk until they end up as the local bike being ridden by the local TukTuk drivers and the Police. Later they will try to report to the Barangay the one who is closest to them for causing the injuries. That is BPD and jealousy.
@janx8695
@janx8695 11 күн бұрын
Exactly and it's completely selfish but a person with BPD's partners will put up with it because of the idealization and love bombing phases in the relationship. The Idealization/devaluation cycles though aren't even based on the reality of you, they are based on an idea of you the person is projecting based on their feelings. Nothing is ever really about other people with these personalities, it's all about them, what they want, what they need. Nothing about what the partner wants or needs or their feelings in all this is even considered. And yes, refusing to trust, acting jealous and possessive, monitoring where you go, who you call and who you spend time with, demanding to know where you are every minute are all forms of emotional abuse. It's controlling and causes the partner a lot of distress. Abusers abuse their loved ones because they want power and control over their victims. They fear being rejected, abandoned, humiliated and powerless. They use tactics designed to weaken the victim so that they can control them more effectively and prevent these things from happening. After an abusive episode or period of time there is a "honeymoon period," where the abuser is sorry and attempts to win back the relationship with promises of good behavior. But there is never an excuse for abuse. It is no accident, and it is not uncontrollable. They know what they are doing is wrong and they are making the choice to do it. People who truly cannot control themselves will behave improperly regardless of who is there or what is going on. This is not the case with most people( unless they experience psychosis) they can control themselves just fine if they need to. They are choosing not to. It is deliberate abuse.

This is so true, but they do have their reasons. Many of the Filipinas that are with foreign men were with Filipino men or a man beforehand, and the Spanish blood shines through with the mastizo thing of having multiple women. These women have already been jaded, and it usually is the other women that go after her man. It's like the sari sari store mentality that if your neighbor has a successful store, you will see two or three show up on the same street. Jealousy goes beyond relationships and and they will actually try to sabotage each other just to find happiness and prosperity. That is why Filipinas act the way they do, and it's almost a cultural thing as part of survival.

Spent 2 months their and then spent about 4 weeks with her and she was so much fun and lovely. i was honest and transparent with her. i told her i am not sure if the philipines is for me and i was visiting to see if it fits. As it turned out i decided to return to Australia and maybe return in Jan for 6 months. Anyway i flew home and decided i could not do the LDR thing. But am i glad i called it off because the true person showed herself. She is a single mom and age of 42 and enjoyed the company but not for me and now i am glad i called it off.

Hi Paul; the 'problem' of sexuality is in my view non-existent: there are many ways to give (and that is Give with a capital G) sexual fullfillment, other than by intercourse. Remember: sex is located between the ears, not the legs. A bigger issue seems to me that a woman in her 20ties will want (and is even morally entitled to) a child. At 60 or so, the man will have other ideas (and poor child with a geriatric daddy). Apart from that: I have seen several age-gapped relations (in Europe). The classic mistake is that the woman adepts to the life-rhytm of the much older man, which accelerates her aging dramatically. The older man should adapt to the younger woman. I have seen a perfect example of that too, but there is a but. The woman always ends up in the role of caretaker for her old man. There the Asian woman is an asset because she will accept that role more naturally and do a much better job.
