The truly unrealistic thing here is the UK supplying the US with nuclear weapons. UK current stockpile is only 260 warheads, with the highest amount they ever had was 520 warheads in the 70s, while the US has thousands of nukes, all it has to do is move operational weapons that are in storage to military bases to be put into combat readiness, such as reentry vehicle warheads attached to new missiles ready to launch, and air based gravity bombs in bombers ready to be dropped. A country with such a small stockpile would NEVER give away nukes to a country with one that’s already massive, unless it were trying to get rid of them. However, a more likely scenario is Russia supplying warheads to the Republican States of America after they secede. Russia has almost 6,000 nukes, only about 1,700 of which are currently on alert. Also, Russia adamantly hates the current US federal government under Biden for supplying conventional arms to Ukraine, as well as the fact that Russia has been accused of interfering with US elections to assist the Republican Party, so it seems likely that Russia may give some of it’s 6,000 warheads to the RSA. The difference here is that in this scenario, a country with a lot of warheads is giving some to a country that has none.

The last part seems quite overly optimistic. After nukes being used, any real wish to look to diversity and empathy/bring about equity would likely be completely and totally gone, and competition and even outright hatred of others would in all likelihood even stronger than every. That’s even assuming the world isn’t plunged into an apocalypse or nuclear winter nukes are used on cities of those sizes, or that much of the US isn’t simply uninhabitable. That said, this was very well made.

Yeah. After the first salvo of missiles were fired, and so soon after the secession, the people of the RSA would DESPISE the Union. "Diversity" and "empathy" would be dead. Trust would be forever gone. Any calls for an "inclusive and equitable" America would be met with complete and utter outrage after what the Union did, and with so much destruction there'd be no "shared prosperity"; the North American continent would officially be a "Developing Nation" at best. The Union fired missiles first, and as such they'd become international pariahs instantly. The majority of any aid would likely be sent to the RSA, and any diplomatic efforts by the Union would likely require that RSA representatives be presented with the severed heads of the people responsible for ordering the initial nuclear strike.

I’d *like to think* the states would put it up to a vote by the citizens of that state, but that may be giving the Governors too much credit. Considering the TN governor has already sent National Guard troops down to the border and just that fact that as of right now Republicans have all the power in TN, yeah, I’d say y’all will probably secede pretty quickly too. I mean, the Democrats would have the Federal government, so you would see the Pentagon being in the Democrats side, so no reaching D.C. also since the Republicans would technically be attacking the US since they would be occupying what is considered American territory by the UN and international community. Several Nato members like Canada and the European nations would send support and maybe troops to the Democrats. Because it would trigger the defense article of NATO. Plus the Navy would just blockade the Southern States into oblivion, since the Southern Cities would have mostly Democrat support the federal government could land troops in them and eventually push North. The Pentagon would just pull troops away from American military bases in other countries and could pretty easily divide hold the Rocky Mountains. D.C would be secured pretty easily. The Pentagon would have most U.S drones and the Pacific and Atlantic U.S Air Force, so the Republicans would get their positions bombed and any artillery advantage could get easily destroyed. The Republican oil, infrastructure and food supply would get bombed and drone striked into oblivion, destroying any chance at a major Republican push in the late war.

Retired and injured vets would instantly lose their benefits regardless of service. Every federal employee working in Texas would leave or get laid off. Multiple city and state government entities that rely on federal funding would go under when the funds ran out. Millions of Texas rely on Food Stamps, Social Security benefits, unemployment benefits, etc. If the U.S. was feeling mean that day, the could revoke US citizenship from every person born in Texas meaning everyone who flees to the U.S. due to the aforementioned issues I brought up, they would be illegal immigrants. The United States would almost immediately place sanctions on us, barring Texas from trading with NATO/UN members which would turn that strong economy we have into a nothing burger. Since I brought that strong Texan economy, it won’t mean anything anymore when we don’t have a USD to exchange with. AND HERES THE KICKER, Texas legally cannot secede and remain the Texas we know of. Legally, it has to break apart into 5 smaller sovereign nations. Texas and California are the only states with such an agreement. The United States would just import the food? Lol. American drone strikes and bombing runs would just destroy the New Confederate States ability to fight. The Democrats being the federal government would have most of the Weapons, man power, foreign support, the fucking Pentagon, and the federal bank, ultimately resulting in a massive increase in inflation for the New Confederates, as there money would become useless as blockades and bombs them into oblivion, destroying the poorly equipped militas farther away from the South, as they have less man power and would be running out of man power quicker then the USA. The Democrats would also get support from NATO, since they are the foreign government and the Republican States are effectively occupying and invading American land. So you would see Canadian and European troops helping America. While the new Confederacy, like WW2 and WW1 Germany would get starved and Blockaded into oblivion as they wouldn't have the affective Air Force and Navy to break the American air and naval domination, given to them by the Atlantic and Pacific Navy and Air forces. Any attempt of industrialization or build up of a navy or air force to counter this would get blown up like the German Air Force and Navy in WW2, the Iraqi Air Force, and the Serbian industrial ability, in past wars. Southern Coastal cities and their closeness to Southern Naval bases would allow for the Pentagon to more easily take control over the Mexican gulfs And forces and and Navy. Trying to take New Orleans any coastal City would be extremely difficult, so they would choked like they did in the first Civil Wars, but this time attacks would be more aggressive and at all times, like we did to the Iraqis, Nazis, Japanese, Vietnamese, and etc. The New Confederates would also deal with anti Republican uprisings in Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, and other large non Republican cities, which would be nearly impossible for Confederate militas to starve into submission. Those cities would sell quickly get supported by the navy and Air Force, who would be able to drop supplies and troops into the city, securing large parts of the Southern Coast.
