Is the name on the boat "valerie" at the end the name of Hannon's real frog princess? A song like this is usually inspired by personal experience and I don't think frog princesses are just exclusive to France.

I've always loved the song but I don't feel that the video gives the song justice. I love the band and it seems like money might've been a contributing editor to the video but yea I think that if they got the proper budget it could be ten times better.

Bullshit. The Divine Comedy released its first album (in 1990) before The Magnetic Fields (1990). Neil Hannon's been doing the same thing as Merritt for years. Plus, would you have been saying this at the time of The Frog Princess's release in the summer of 1996 - I doubt it. Yup, this son is over 13 years old. THIRTEEN YEARS OLD.
